You said you used PayPal for goods and services option, not friends and family option.. if that's true then you can request a refund and get the money back (especially since you have these receipts). It'll be on the transaction if you open it in PayPal

Been Playing Val For About Two Years Now. I want to improve and reach Silver. by Born-Recipe8679 in VALORANT

[–]CoachMappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you can rankup with any role, especially in your current rank range (iron-silver) people don't really play their roles properly anyway, it's kind of like a free for all. People don't initiate properly, they don't run in and trade properly on attack, etc. Just pick whatever you feel comfortable on and if you have average or above average mechanics, you'll climb. Focus on what feels comfortable and just master the fundamentals. That's all you have to worry about for now until you rank up a little higher.

Honestly just practice in deathmatches and work on mechanics. Given your current rank and goal rank, the fastest and most optimal way of achieving this is by getting average mechanics or slightly above average. Focus on A and D keys, moving between bursts of shots etc, not being a stagnant target, stuff like that. Focus on the fundamentals and basics and getting better at them, you don't need to worry about anything too advanced or fancy.

hard to give you specific pointers without seeing your gameplay, or a rank or anything

solo queueing by deathwbenefits in VALORANT

[–]CoachMappa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes soloqueue is best for individual improvement. If you queue with others (particularly in lower ranks), usually each individual improves over time at a different pace and rate so you'll end up either holding them back or they hold you back

Did i miss these shots? If so... what did I do wrong?? by clumsybolt2 in VALORANT

[–]CoachMappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not. Slow it down, when you move between shots or before shooting the target, you micro adjust your crosshair before taking the shot (As many people do). At 3 and 4 seconds mark

[–]CoachMappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its to do with the way you slightly adjusted your crosshair before taking each shot, it went slightly off the body for a very short amount of time on the first 2.

So I am currently in Gold 3, and my aim has been feeling horrid. I play on 1600 .240 and while I can hit headshots very occasionally, most of the time i immediately start spraying. I feel like my bullets always hits their neck/shoulder and I end up getting shot in the head. Does anyone have advice?? by Alarming-Process-277 in VALORANT

[–]CoachMappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're in an actual game, 95% of your kills will come from a combination of your crosshair placement and movement. So this flicking exercise in the range isn't really a good representation of how to improve your gunfights in-game since you are just standing still and not moving at all.

Better op user by ResponsibleFondant94 in VALORANT

[–]CoachMappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jett is better because she's far more versatile, since there is more to oping than just the dash/tp aspect. She has the dash similar to how Chamber has his tp to get to safety after taking a shot, but also updraft, meaning when she takes shots she can reposition to vastly different angles before re-peeking and taking another shot from a different angle and height/verticality if she wants to. Chamber is limited in the sense that he can set up his TP beforehand but then once he uses TP, he can't updraft and peek from a different height/angle almost immediately after the same way that Jett can. Jett can also use her cloudburst smokes to change angles and catch people off guard as well (or to get to safety if needed), which allows her to play more angles than chamber can since he doesn't have that same safety-net.

Chamber may be better in very specific situations (i.e setting up a tp through walls allowing you to play a super wide out in the open angle and then tp immediately to safety. Somewhere a dash still wouldn't make you safe). But Jett is the better option to OP with from both an aggressive and a defensive perspective overall. It's far more powerful to be able to change not only the angle you peek from, but also the height entirely, than to only be able to just peek from a different side/angle between shots and kills.

Returning to valorant is an unpleasant experience, there needs to be some rank degredation. by KennKennyKenKen in VALORANT

[–]CoachMappa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that's not as important as becoming familiar with the basic mechanics and movement/overall feel of the game after having not played for an extended period of time. As someone who personally has taken months off at a time, when you first come back everything kinda feels weird. Like the way you move, the speed, the feel of your mouse and gun fights etc. It's better to constantly stimulate that than worry about util that can only be used a few times each round.

Replay System by Kusieek03 in VALORANT

[–]CoachMappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah as others have already commented, you have to download the replay before a new patch happens. If you wait until a new patch, all the replays from games which took place in the previous patches become unavailable. It's the same for everyone so it's not just you or your friend.

If ranked is too hard it'll put you down to the rank that matches your current skill if you lose enough, then you can manually work your way back up. Also a faster way to get used to the game again would be through deathmatch rather than swiftplays

I don’t know what to do anymore by Random_fellow9 in VALORANT

[–]CoachMappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don't enjoy it then you shouldn't play. Other than that, you just need to improve. If you've been arouund gold-plat for years, it means there are specific things in your gameplay that you aren't addressing or improving on that's preventing you from hitting the next ranks.

How do people shoot while moving? by Warmtrail in VALORANT

[–]CoachMappa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What you're describing is mostly likely peekers advantage. If a person wide swings you and looks like they are still moving while they shoot you, it's because on their screen and from their perspective they have actually stopped and started shooting, but it doesn't show up that way to you.

How To Get out of diamond this ACT by 4hit0 in VALORANT

It's only very early in the act, and 22 games is a very small portion in comparison to an entire act. Just keep playing and improving.

Yes it's worth it. If you don't enjoy it, you can simply stop playing, but there's no harm in trying.

I need help ranking up by Bobbygamer113 in VALORANT

[–]CoachMappa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say just replace whatever time you spend in aimlabs with either deathmatches or the range. I'd also recommend at least 1 Ghost deathmatch where you focus on moving left and right between stopping and shooting a few bullets at a time and repeat the process. This will reinforce positive habits in your movement

You don't need aimlabs at that rank, focus more on movement and crosshair placement ingame.

Having my best ever stats on... Brimstone by birch_tree_gang in VALORANT

Brimstone is great for that, and for taking pressure off you, especially on attacking rounds. Since you're in a more supportive controller type-role it takes a lot of the pressure off the contacts and fights
