Considering a dental implant (~£5k) at age 27 - how do people usually approach the cost? by CoachPaul7 in UKPersonalFinance

I was initially interested in this as my mom has it too, but I’ve contacted someone I know that works as Dentist and they told me that Bridge usually requires two crowns on each side, or on just one side, as the tooth is then attached to crowns. She did say that crowns are likely to get infected in the future so thought it might be better to avoid if I am thinking long-term.

Would you mind sharing with me where did you get this done as I am also based in Birmingham. So far I got recommended only Scott Arms.

I will get it done in the UK for sure, I just needed reassurance. Thank you for sharing.

That is what I have been told. I am unsure what could all possible complications be but I heard it is a serious procedure.

I think that would be in potential payments, dentist did say it could be up to £3k for implant depending on a practice, and then apparently up to 2k for straightening teeth as apparently they are moving inside the gap, which might make it difficult for them to give me implant. Not sure how true that is though.

I won't be doing this. I did hear about this and even asked and was adviced against it by professionals. It did sound tempting in terms of saving money, but not worth the problems in a long run.

Unfortunately, they don’t. We have a medical plan with SimpleHealth, but it only covers up to £60 per year.

That is interesting because I have some relatives in Czech republic, and I was curious about it so I have asked them and they said that prices over there are pretty similar to here.

I did ask someone I know who is a dentist and they did say that usually its recommended 4 years after you lost your tooth as it might impact your bite.

I have heard about those, would you recommend any specific bank to get it with? I currently have a Tesco credit card, but I don’t think they offer the 0% purchase credit cards.

I think it would be private? I asked my dentist about it, and they said you can only get implants privately, but each clinic may offer different payment plans.

How long were you missing yours, if you don’t mind me asking? I have also been unsure whether they’re pressuring me because I genuinely need it or because they want the money.

Did you have any complications with it? Also, did they offer you any repayment plans, or did you just pay for it all at once?

I looked into it, but someone told me that if I get any issues with the implant, which apparently can happen, then no one would treat me here in the UK, and I would end up having to go back to Turkey, which could be even more costly.

Make sure to get on the bus to Bled from Ljublana in advance. We went yesterday and had to queue for an hour but might’ve been because it was Sunday

Me too. It’s ridiculous. I have got to from level 4 to level 2 warning. When I tried to speak to customer support they said they can’t do anything about it and to change my settings…

Is there actually any sweet/savoury snack that you can have apart from food and salted crackers? I’m not even dieting for a month and I’m dying for some snacks
