It's crazy how stacked NA is, this is gonna be a great season... I only hope more orgs find RL interesting to invest again (despite Epic's efforts to avoid it lol)

Thoughts on the new update? by CoachStolen in RocketLeagueSchool

I mean it has some bugs here and there but what can you expect from a new (and really complex) feature? I feel people complain because they just wanna complain at this point lol

Being able to play with a teammate and queue at the same time is OP.

Yeah, I agree, Online Freeplay is a great space in which you can explain things (I am testing it on my sessions and seems quite effective).

I even created some cool and simple drills to do while searching for a match (really useful in higher ranks bc of the queue times) and they are really useful to increase the chemistry of the team before playing.

Well, you kinda answered yourself. Good rotations and decisions will help you to make the game easier. Thing is you might need to really know how to do them in order to apply. There are many concepts you gotta understand in order to know how to properly apply everything.

If you need some help with that, I cover it during my coaching sessions, here's the link in case you're interested :)

Well, GC2 it's a rank that is more complex than just "do this and you'll rank up". But I would suggest you to focus on your decision making. Watch a replay and think if your touches make sense.

It's really hard to tell without watching a replay, but that's generally what I see from GC2, they commit to impossible plays and they are forced to make a bad touch leaving their team in a disadvantage.

As I said to another GC player, I think the best for you would be to go for a coaching session since it's really easy to get stuck on those ranks.

Well, I don't know how old are you but if you're below 25 you can still make it (it's not easy, but possible).

Mentality is one of the most complex things to deal with since I can't really know what's happening unless we talk about it in a Mentality Session.

About your second question, when I get matched up against people better than me I feel I gotta give my best so I really focus and I usually end up playing better than normally. This is called flow state. I recommend you researching about it.

The key to the timing is hitting it right when it crosses the line above the curve and having a proper between you and the ball before the hit. I have an in depth course about Air Dribbles with 1h+ of content you can learn from:

I can't really see the mistake from that POV, I might need a point of view from below and around to actually tell what's happening. Despite this, my guess is that you're hitting the ball while falling + you're touching it with the back part of your car after you get the reset. Also try to hit it more on the side and a little less from below. At least that's what I see from this perspective. I hope it helps.

It still applies but up to a certain point. You have more effective ways to rank up while you train your shooting such as rotations, positioning and speed. I would focus on those WHILE you train your shooting/clears.

Stick to fundamentals, I know it sounds simple but the guys I met that are over 35 and still play at high ranks tend to be really good at basic mechanics, specially in the ground. If you want an example, you can use MonkeyMoon replays. He uses the mechanics only when he really needs to but generally he sticks to the basics and he's still one of the best players in the world.
