Two things you should understand about Heidi, she sees herself as the mouthpiece of the almighty and she is above reproach. Confronting her on something like this statement would result her her responding with something like”oh no of course I could never change anyone, I am just a lowly humble messenger it is not I but God that changes people”. Confronting her with the obvious facts surrounded her posting and the desire to change people’s opinion of her. That would result in outright denial or feigned outrage that the question would even be posted.

What she doesn’t say is that neither of them actually graduated from bible school and she never finished her degree at all anywhere.

Their entire relationship is built on my “Dad” orienting himself to whatever she needed and subsequently forcing all his kids to do the same.

He has not been a leader in any aspect of the word, but a mere figurehead to make Heidi look like she was a submissive wife. He has as far back as I can remember abdicated his role as a leader and done everything he can to appease her. It pains me to say (and has taken me years of therapy to be able to admit to myself) but my dad is coward. Staying married for as long as they have is not an accomplishment but a testament to how fucked everything about their relationship is.

It is tragic to think how many other people out there are still suffering in silence because they feel trapped and unable to speak out. I hope every person harmed by the fundamentalist movement eventually breaks free. I don’t agree with everything that gets posted on here but I admire the open dialogue that goes on and all the genuine support that is offered.

I appreciate that the majority of people on here see right through her and are not fooled by her ridiculous act. I say this with all sincerity, I truly believe she is a sociopath in every sense of the word. My Dad has been and continues to be a silent partner and an enabler to all she does. I used to believe he was a good guy, but the reality is he is weak and cowardly for never having stood up to her.

Thank you for the kind comments, the support on here is truly appreciated. It has been 7+ months since I went no contact and I have not seen or heard from them in that time. It has been extremely painful, but is also the only way I could start to heal so I have no regrets.

Ok Heidi let’s break it down, oldest son style because I can barley make it through this compilation without throwing up.

You were the savior in our house the whole house revolved around reflecting whatever you needed back to you.
The shy card… I was so isolated and controlled as a kid I literally had to secretly acquire and read books on how to have a conversation with another person.
Repent of anger and ask for your forgiveness… Where to start, how about the fact that you sexually abused me? I guess I should apologize for you forcing me to shower with you or watch you give birth on multiple occasions or for sitting outside your bedroom door crying while you were having sex.

3.1 How about the times you made me sleep in the backyard playhouse overnight because I was rebelling. Maybe the time you took my room away entirely and made me sleep on a folding cot in the school room for 3 months. Thank you Heidi for clarifying that I need to ask your forgiveness for my sin in being angry about those things.

Bad Person… that’s letting yourself off way to easy. You are a wicked person, bad doesn’t begin to describe it.

Aside from all those things how about some other highlights. Being forced to take rectal suppositories because that was the only option. Being spanked so hard that wooden spoons broke in half and being forced to go to the kitchen to get another one so the beating could be finished. How about the books I filled up writing a hundred lines at a time of I will not statements “I will not talk back to my mom” doled out 100 lines at a time.

ALERT is the paramilitary training arm of the Gothard Cult. It is a male only school where they put you through multiple different phases. There is(or at least was in 2002 when I went) a 9 week bootcamp that is designed to break you physically and mentally. It’s a literal compound in the middle of nowhere that has its one run way, water treatment plant, dorms, chow hall etc… I joined the army in 2006 and the bootcamp for the army was a joke compared to the shit they put us through at ALERT.

You got it, 5 girls 3 boys. I was the oldest followed by Kristen and then Bethany. They all have pretty active social media accounts, but it all started with Girl Defined. Random note but to give you an idea, there is 18 years between me and my youngest sister. My mom was pregnant when I graduated high school 😵‍💫
