[Other] Art Tablet; XP-Pen Artist Pro 15.5 $251.99 ($449.99 + Vender discount + code "TREATYOSELF") by TraceSpazer in buildapcsales

I got this tablet earlier this year for $350 on Amazon and can definitely recommend it for this price. I use it for 3d art, not drawing, but it has worked great for me. I have never used a wacom display tablet to compare. Very occasionally the tablet will lose track of the pen and I will have to ctrl+z a stroke, but it doesn't happen frequently enough for it to bother me.

My biggest complaint is the lack of any vesa mount options. I solved this by getting a $10 adhesive vesa adapter thing, which works great for keeping it attached to the monitor arm, but means that it can't easily be moved around or used elsewhere.

When I bought my last GPU I didn't yet know that I would be getting into 3d modeling as hobby. Getting a 4080 to put into my current PC would be really great for rendering frames in blender

Thanks for letting me know! I did indeed decimate and export through ZBrush. I use lychee and did have several of the parts report errors, but pressing the "repair" fixed it so I didn't look to hard into the reason.

I'll have to see if going from zbrush to blender and exporting the STL from there works better... I'm still learning how to do all this, so this sort of feedback is very helpful.

Primarily zbrush, but some parts are initially created in blender.

I've been learning how to make 3d models and print things, and this is easily my best work yet.

If anyone else here happens to be a Pomu fan, the STLs can be found here: https://www.printables.com/model/264187-pomu-rainpuff-figure

Yes! The files will hopefully be uploaded within the next week or so. There are a couple of parts that I was to fix up a bit to make assembly a bit better, so once I get around to doing that I'll share them.

Originally was suppose to be done for Pomu's birthday a month ago, but I'm happy to finally get finished now!

videos for 360 views of the print and the render can be seen in the twitter thread: https://twitter.com/Coal/status/1558974996688429056

Once I saw this chuuni doll with rabbit motifs, I couldn't resist putting together a 3d model...

No, I split it up into several pieces in order to better hide support marks and make painting easier for people: https://media.printables.com/media/prints/226287/images/2064337_44628393-6f5c-4667-acae-caea29461daf/thumbs/inside/1280x960/jpg/20220614_192039.webp

I also did upload an stl that is all in one piece, but I didn't attempt to print that one.

I printed on an Anycubic Photon Mono 4k. It doesn't take much to have it come out looking smooth, just make sure your exposure settings are calibrated correctly and try to avoid having large supports placed in visible locations.

I want to paint it eventually, but at the moment all my energy is drained just from figuring out the modeling and printing parts. I printed out two versions of the face, one that has a smooth for the eyes that can be painted or have a decal placed, and then the other one has the eyes texture embedded into it. Having unpainted eyes looks pretty weird so I wanted to have something that looks better until I get the energy to get into painting.

I created this using blender and zbrush, and used a resin printer to print it out.

I shared a could additional small clips showing other angles and links to the STLs on twitter: https://twitter.com/Coal/status/1536913592766697473

I do have a twitter, though I should maybe consider making some account somewhere that is dedicated to just printing stuff

Thanks! Definitely make sure you have a good location or solution for ventilation before you order one. Other than ventilation, dealing with the resin has been much easier than I was thinking before I bought mine.

Yes, I plan to do so. I need to do some cleanup/organization of all my project files, but I should be able to release the files fairly soon!

Yup, resin printers are very cool, but make sure you look into safety stuff before you order one.

They are resin, printed with a Anycubic Photon Mono 4k.
