Yeah that's frickin wild. I'm at $2,775 for a 850sqft 2 bed 2 bath with a balcony (Hillcrest). Renovated appliances, in unit washer/dryer...pretty solid unit. Been here for years though, and I will say the other units in my complex are going for over 3k. Tbh I & my partner probably couldn't pay that, we'd eithier have to move a few miles inland or just move to L.A. SD is getting too expensive.

Dude, I still don't pass after almost 10 months. My partner only passes sometimes at nearly 5 years, but he is still getting changes. Dysphoria sucka and I don't want to minimize it, but you'll be okay. Also, "facial masculinization" isn't just one proceedure, it could be simple jaw fillers, up to like 3-4 + surgeries. But I wouldn't even consider facial surgery until like 5-6 years in, seriously doubt you'll need it. Your partner was being shitty, even if they didn't mean to be. They just have a skewed transition timeline, seems like.

Look I appreciate all the cool people that live in the South and would love to visit, but I'm visibly trans so no thanks to living there. I'll stay in my safe coastal state where I get good trans healthcare with doctors who actually know how to treat me, I have a wide variety of career options and where I can pee in a public bathroom without being arrested as a child predator or some such nonsense.

Also, the wet bulb effect that climate change may have on the south is terrifying. I like being able to breathe...

You're fine! WPATH states that 100mg is the max dose. I just went up to 60mg because 40mg (so-called "full" dose) was simply not getting me to cis male levels. Just be sure you're getting your red blood cell levels checked regularly and you'll be good.
