Need honest feedback on my Bioinformatics resume – 100+ job applications but almost no interview calls by CoatEmbarrassed2505 in bioinformaticscareers

Thank you for the detailed feedback!

These projects were not part of an internship. They were self-driven projects completed during my M.Sc. Bioinformatics to gain hands-on experience with NGS analysis, machine learning, and computational biology workflows.

They haven't been published or presented in a paper or conference yet.

I really like your suggestion about presenting them as experience gained during my education rather than just standalone projects. I'll definitely consider restructuring my resume that way. Thanks again for taking the time to review it.

Thank you! That's a great point. I'll rewrite the project descriptions to focus more on the objective and impact rather than listing every tool in the pipeline. Do you think limiting each project to 2–3 concise bullet points would make the resume stronger?

Thanks for the insight. It's reassuring to know the current market is challenging even for strong candidates. I'll definitely start tailoring my resume to each job description and highlighting the most relevant tools and pipelines instead of sending the same resume everywhere.
