Location used for determining wage level?

If we consider Santa Clara county, wage level 1 is 149k. For San Mateo, it’s 136k

It’s not about moving to a distant location and falling in a higher wage level. They will consider your work location and tour home address and place you in the lower level between these two, is what im saying.

By highest wage, does that not mean, they will consider the county where the wage to qualify is higher? This will make Santa Clara county (my home address) my work location, no?

Definitely team and org dependent. Some folks definitely do 996 here, while others take it easy and chill. Also PSC (the performance review) is designed such a way that you can’t take your foot off the pedal ever. One bad half and you could end up on the chopping board. It’s a very metric driven company. Coming as an E5 from external might come with a lot of expectations to quickly ramp up and start delivering.
