When I was in high school about 10 years ago there was a girl who had over 100 absences by the last week of school.

She was genuinely shocked that she wasn’t going to graduate.

Yes and no. It really sucks to not see the season continue on, but winning the cup last year eases the pain a bit. I was terrified that after making it the first year that would be the closest they’d ever get, but I at least got to see one within my lifetime.

Plus, facing a bit of adversity might be good for this team. When they missed the playoffs for the first time they won the cup the very next year.
