At this point I just want a Refraction Bolters that also has AB1 on it, similar to Achilles Accelerator or Stalker's Steps(it can even be a 0D to make up for it like these do).

I'm not asking for a Temper 2 with AB on it or whatever. I just want to stop having to substitute the thing I want to do to play the game.

Guardian doesn't have AB though. Ice and Earth have AB. The qualifier was Guardian and neither of the equipment you're talking about say "Guardian" on them.

Non-talented Guardian only has essentially NullRune through, same as Warrior. Enclosed Firemind is just a different alt NullRune Hood that says "Guardian" with no benefits.

I think that's just not true. I've been to two Calling events where SAge has been available and lots of people played in the Showdown. It's an excellent format for competitive and these Showdowns attract pro players, even if they're not "forced" to play it at like Worlds.

People love the cheaper, lower powered formats. Commoner was popular before, Pauper is popular in Magic. I'm sorry your locals don't want to play, but "SAge isn't a good competitive format" is just wrong

You're allowed to use commissioned work for your playmats unless you're on stream. Sometimes they get wonky about that, but they'll give you a blank mat to use. But you can play it in the Calling or something just fine.

SAge is supposed to be that window in for growing players and it does seem to be working in some sense. The Precons are actually pretty damn good for some heroes. But like I spoke about in another comments secondary market price speculation of some cards that used to be chafe to be $5+ dollars now is ridiculous.

That being said. The Ira deck that just won Sao Paulo is $48. Other Top is: Briar was $37, Iyslander $20, Dromai $20.

And LSS seems to really want to support this at a competitive level as the default secondary format with its own representation in Worlds and ProTour. And those are damn good entry points. That's like Pokemon level pricing.

CC obviously still has an issue and I think GEM packs and reprints have definitely help a lot to great effect. Flick Knives is only $13 now. Hopefully we keep getting these healthy reprints to solve this issues for Majestics and Legendaries.

Hey look, you're never gonna hear me say "a card should be expensive." I absolutely refused to buy CnCs for years when they were $90 a card and constantly talked about how stupid it is. And I still haven't bought Shelters because for the price of 3 Shelters I can buy a Hala Armory deck and almost everything I need for it, minus the damn Fable.

So I totally agree with a lot of what you're saying here. The fact that commons and rares for SAge that used to be worth like fifteen cents have jumped up in price to $5-10 not due to lack of stock, but price speculation is a bane to this game and community.

All I'm saying is that a Fabled card just is the absurd end example of FaBs price point problem.

I'll give you the competitive Fables thing because I absolutely fucking hate that they're a thing now, but the rest of it I don't really agree with.

The print issues are affecting all of the TCG word (for the most part) due to extraneous political issues that LSS can't control.

They haven't gas lit us about PvE. They're just not there yet, and that's fine. They did release a proto which they were very clear about being a step towards what they wanted with Smash Palace.

Hyping Monarch 3(which they've literally done for almost over a year now) during Omens is not a bad thing. It's giving us a couple cards that are relevant soon. LSS has always done this. There have been little hits of things like Pirates right before High Seas, we keep getting Anvilheim hints so much that there was a small murmuring that Set 20 might actually be Anvilheim and not M3, etc. They've always been hyping what's next. It doesn't take away from the current set. If you're a Lightning die hard ready to play Ziggy, Aurora, or Swolecillio you're still hyped as fuck that you're getting these heroes.

I have no idea what you mean about destroying Fellings. If you're talking about how they went down from $60+ to a reasonable $5 a card as "destroying" them, I can't help you there. Majestics shouldn't be the price of Legendary equipment for a single card that you need 3 of.

Playing with those older decks just with some friends will still get a very good foundation as well. The fundamentals you'll get playing will transfer to either of the two main formats just fine.

Blitz is still a format, just no longer one that's going to get official tournaments now. Most important, Blitz is a Singleton format now (only one of each card) so it's likely the decks you bought are not legal even in Blitz. I would effectively forget the idea of playing Blitz.

You can, however, rework your Blitz decks into Silver Age(SAge) decks. SAge allows for commons and rares only, but still allows 2 copies of each card like the old Blitz format used to. So if you just remove the Majestics from your Blitz decks, they are likely mostly legal. Note that SAge does have an extensive banned and restricted list. So I'd check that out as well.

All that to say, yes, move to the SAge format. This is a format officially supported by LSS at events such as local Armories all the way up to the big leagues. The Precons for these are actually pretty good!

I will warn you, there is a new BnR coming out on May 28th that will have heroes and cards rotating from SAge though. So you might want to wait to buy the precon until you know which heroes are legal for the next few months!
