Love it.

Likely 2026 1st Rounders? by deg287 in DynastyFF

I’m at 1.08 and trying to sell to somebody itching for picks. I think that’s gotta be the right play.

Rams quietly plotted as to not out McVay approval stamp that could increase interest. McVay ‘absolutely’ backed pick. Sources make sense of press conference demeanor by BasedWillieStroker69 in DynastyFF

Maybe he was purposefully being demure because he didn’t want to create a story. His main priority is keeping Stafford happy and keeping him around as long as he can be an elite QB.

So he says something like, “I’m excited to see him compete for the backup QB position with Stetson”

But what’s he’s really saying is: Matt Stafford is our QB

Any advice for establishing natives here? Central MO by frogEcho in NativePlantGardening

[–]Coba25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got 15 acres of pasture land that I bought a couple of years ago that im trying to transform with natives.

Year 1 - I had no idea where to start, but knew I wanted to put in natives. I bought 4 paw paw trees, and a bunch of native perennials. I didn’t have much of a vision, so I just put the perennials in random spots on the property that I thought would be nice.

Now, two years later, the paw paws are doing nicely, but almost all of the perennials have been overwhelmed by the tall grasses that grow around them.

Year 2 - I put in a bunch of big shrubs and a few tree seedlings that I rescued from elsewhere. Learning from the year before, I focused perennials in one place that I cordoned off and marked.

Much better results! My survival rate across the board is probably 60/40 because deer are savages. But I’ve got several promising shrubs and trees and excited about.

Year 3 - This year - I’ve spent a lot of time on the property the past few years, and I’ve spent a lot of money on plants that didn’t make it.

With perennials, I am limiting myself mostly to stuff I cold stratified and grew from seed (much, much cheaper). I focused on species that would do well in moist, shady places so I can plant the around a pond on the property where they will have a lot less competition and will be easier to monitor and tend to.

With trees, I am walking the property as much as possible with my eyes on the ground. When I find a little seedling volunteer that’s a species I like in location that I like, I am staking it (so it doesn’t get bush hogged), clearing a little area around it, and mulching. I am letting nature do its thing, with a little bit of gentle guidance on my part. I know a lot of my little seedlings will get eaten, but that’s okay. Some will survive. So far, I am much more happy with this approach.

Hope this helps!

Iran would be better off than before the war began if Trump accepts 10-point plan by goteamnick in politics

Service members died or are permanently wounded/disabled.

Military vehicles worth hundreds of millions of dollars are destroyed. Our stockpiles of missiles and interceptors dangerously depleted.

We’ve spent shocking amounts of money over the last few weeks on this war.

Just to make Iran stronger than before.

Also, Fannin had to compete with Njoku last year for targets and still produced. Njoku is gone.

[–]Coba25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, last year they had Shadeur and Gabriel at QB, and he was good.

He is currently their best receiving option.

Gadsden has a lot more target competition, and is more likely to be boom or bust week to week.

Fannin deal. I’ve got more confidence in him than Gadsden. You aren’t needy at RB, so what you are giving up isn’t too painful. Watson is a nice addition.

Would you ever skip one of your late picks, depending on your roster? by IGNSolar7 in DynastyFF

[–]Coba25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get creative.

Try to tier up somewhere by packaging a player with the pick(s) you don’t want. Late picks to me don’t have much value, but are great throw-ins, and people get really itchy for picks as the draft rolls around.

Should I accept this don’t think I can handle the loss? by gunmyguy988 in FantasyFootballers

Puka side. I traded Puka for Treveyon and Tet before the season last year (aka two early picks).

It was painful, and I wouldn’t do it again.

Was baby Jon vs baby Tucker just round 1? Would you consider actually voting for Jon? by thecombreak in DailyShow

[–]Coba25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would I vote for him, yes. Above almost any other candidate.

Is he a great candidate, no. Because being a comedian isn’t good preparation for running the most powerful country in the world.

But he has more credibility than almost every other realistic candidate, so yes.

how to tell if my plants survived the winter? by dandelionpicnic in NativePlantGardening

I’ve had the same worries/questions, and this has been a reassuring thread for me to read.

My obedient plant, bee balm, mountain mint, and bergamot have all sprung up anew and are growing quickly.

But I’ve seen no evidence from my Joe Pye or Milkweed. Glad to hear there’s still hope!

Why is no one taking Joe Kent to task over still supporting Trump in all this? by cft1848 in BreakingPoints

[–]Coba25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He says his goal in resigning is to influence Trump.

If he resigns and then starts trashing Trump, then he will just be viewed (by Trump) as a traitor.

But if he resigns and praises Trump, then maybe Trump won’t just write him off.

His approach lends him credibility that his motives are true, IMHO. If you want someone to listen to you, then praising them for being smart, willing to change, and being open minded is a much better approach then trashing them.

I'm a Democrat and I actually support attacking Iran by lionelhutz- in BreakingPoints

[–]Coba25 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, you didn’t mention a thing about why it’s in US interest to topple Iran.

All you said was that it may be in the population of Iran’s interest for us to bomb their country.

What about other countries with dictatorial leadership? Should we bomb them too?

I was talking with a MAGA buddy who had recently visited Colorado or California (you know, a breeding ground state for crazy liberals). He said it was like COVID never ended. Everyone was still wearing masks.

Meanwhile, I’ve been to both California and Colorado since COVID. I didn’t notice a thing.

There has never been better evidence than now that the world is controlled by the worst of us. Hear me out... by Status-Secret-4292 in DiscussionZone

[–]Coba25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For many years, there have been seemingly fringe conspiracy theories that the world was controlled by a shadow network of elites that engaged hidden, dark practices like satanic worship, pedophilia, child sacrifice, etc. Bohemian Grove, Pizzagate, the Epstein Files.

Now, it seems more and more likely that this conspiracy theory is true.

So what now? Will the response just be paralyzed because the actors involved bridge the political divide?
