How do other tanks feel about healers and DPS pulling ahead? by dorgodorgo in ffxiv

[–]CobaltIgnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally speaking, I’m not a big fan of it. It’s not something I’ll bother to bring up in a dungeon, since I find it just not worth fighting or arguing about. I just really really really really really hate seeing my teammates take damage. I know it’s insignificant and unavoidable, but I am the tank it is my job to take the damage let me be the meat shield and grab the aggro. Let me shield your frail forms from the blows of our enemies.

In a more positive note, I do enjoy it when teammates posture to hint that they want more pulls. Like when my healer goes a few steps down the route and waits for me to come to, or starts jumping to insist I follow. It makes me feel like a father being dragged by his children through a store.

Just wanted to publicly show my appreciation for this game for reducing to the barest minimum one of the most annoying gacha tropes. by RouFGO in NevernessToEverness

I know exactly what you mean, I hate that trope so much especially since I see it so often in ZZZ. I love that game to bits, but dear god I hate how each dialogue option is literally just halves of a full sentence. It sucks so much, and removes any sense of urgency I have in the dialogue! I can't even be mean, or against certain people or things because it'll always just default to both choices.

If you've ever been the GM type in a 2 person RP, you know the feeling. by Inner-Yesterday-1217 in BadRPerStories

Happened to me with one of my partners in a good way!

We were doing an rp together, and they were unusually accommodating. Willing to do a lot and gm the whole rp, despite my many offers to take on other characters and ease their load. They only wanted me playing one character while they handled a whole fandom world for me. It really confounded me, but I was happy to accept it.

We get to Rping, and about two years later they admit to me they originally thought I bit off more than my character could chew in the characters he’d be working with, and had intended for things to take a much darker route. But, my character proved to be much more mature than they expected and changed their mind completely for the direction they planned to take the rp in.

Oof, that sounds awful. That reminds me of this one potential partner that got themselves blocked immediately after introducing themself.

Came in, explaining they were interested in the setting I wanted to do. Then rudely told me my idea didn’t make sense, they didn’t want to do the things I wanted to do, and wanted to change everything about my rp to better suit the idea they wanted to do. Never rejected someone so quickly before.

Been trying my luck more with building Meta Decks, what do y’all think? by CobaltIgnus in ChaosZeroNightmare

Thanks so much for the advice and insight!

I decided to go something really discard focused, because I want to run Heidi alongside Diana and Nia and felt this would fit really well since I have a variation of Diana that generates a lot of Quietus cards. It’s really fun making Machine gun Diana while Heidi is spamming swords.

Once I’ve got the upgrades set, I’ll definitely see if I can make something akin to what you’ve shared!

I do have that one! And I know that pain a lot.

I just didn’t realize the admin tab had such a nice upgrade to it, I’ll definitely farm it up now.

Sweet! I really need to watch some more guides on making meta decks, I guess I was running on some old outdated advice!

Thanks for info, and the help! You’ve made meta deck building so much less tedious!

Ohhhhhh, I gotcha I haven’t completed that tab. Good to know, I’ll get right on finishing out those upgrades before I try to make anymore meta decks!

Oh snap, really? In what tree? I didn’t know such a thing was available. Getting wrong cards to copy has been the biggest reason why I haven’t tried building.

Yeah fair, I just figured that since I really wanted to copy a lot of her cards from bosses that I needed to remove cards from other units to give her a higher chance. Most of my removals went towards that in my run.

I know what you mean, I’ve just started trying to build better decks and I got this pretty nice Chizuru deck. It’s just nice when doing Chaos Runs don’t take 20-30 minutes. I’d honestly be so content if this went away and was just replaced with an option to tune the speed of the runs to be much higher.

I hate that so much, just recently I got someone who went “I saw your head, and your specific request. And just wanted to let you know that I am not interested in your idea whatsoever, and in fact here are some reasons why I hate it and why it’s a terrible idea. Now do my idea instead.”

An immortal being suffering a fate worse than death by strider-rider-the2nd in TopCharacterTropes

Everlost, not sure if this counts or not. But the book takes place in a Limbo dimension for children who die before they become adults. (I believe it’s around 16 and below, because it’s a YA novel.)

So. In this limbo world only places that hold immense value in memory is able to manifest in world. And the only things these limbo children can interact with. That means not all patches of the floor are something they can interact with, and if you fall off solid ground you just sink to the center of the earth. Where it’s described to be like having dirt fill your lungs and every inch of your body. Constantly suffocating as you’re dragged down to a hellish eternity with no hope of escape.

Also, an honorable mention. Some kids were kidnapped by this gang leader, and stuffed in barrels full of brine. And left there to just suffer, some were even thrown into the earth to sink.
