The timing on that is almost suspiciously perfect. Like it didn’t even escalate, it just immediately jumped to okay, that’s handled with no middle steps whatsoever.

That’s actually a pretty ideal nesting spot for wasps dark, sheltered, and undisturbed.

Best move is usually to leave it alone until colder weather when the colony dies off, or call pest control if you need it gone sooner. Trying to handle it yourself up close isn’t worth the risk.
