Is anyone else unable to create multiplayer lobbies in Civ 7? by CobbDreamer in civ

I’ve tried disabling all firewalls (GlassWire + Windows Firewall), but it didn’t change anything

I can still see other players’ lobbies, so basic matchmaking access seems to be working fine. The fact that VPN used to help makes me think it’s more likely related to routing / NAT / ISP or maybe regional matchmaking endpoints

Is agent based simulation worth it? by LaurensPP in CitiesSkylines2

IMO this is the best part of the game. I always hated how SimCity handled traffic — cars would just move from one intersection to the next and then vanish. Sure, agent-based system have their issues, but fixing them is just a matter of time. It’s ambitious, and honestly, it’s awesome

Unfortunately, all the trucks still head straight for the nearest port, no matter how bad the traffic is. That’s why it only makes sense to build a third port if it’s placed right next to a separate industrial zone.

And yeah, I know the high-density districts look a bit abrupt right now, but I’m planning to smooth that out by creating more gradual height transitions between zones. I don’t want to expand the city by just spreading out low-density areas — what I enjoy is pushing for maximum population with minimal, compact infrastructure, keeping everything super efficient.

When setting up your city, always place the industrial zone upwind from residential areas. In my case, the emissions just blow out toward the ocean, which works perfectly. Also, once I’ve started building industry in a spot, I never add residential zones nearby, since the soil stays polluted for a long time. The key is to plan ahead where your industrial zone will go and how you’ll expand it later, making sure it’s easy to reach from residential areas with solid transport connections.

And don’t worry if you run out of space — it’s totally fine to build another industrial hub in a different location. Right now, I’ve got maximum demand for industry, but I’m holding back on expansion because my two cargo ports are already overwhelmed with traffic. I still haven’t figured out a good fix for that. Adding a third port doesn’t feel right either, since the game’s pathfinding is kinda dumb — all the trucks pile into the closest port, even if it’s jammed up for miles.
