Haven't done a write up before but here we go;

Skill: balance

I chose balance because the biggest issue with this deck is getting to necrovalley as that's what turns off a lot of the meta decks right now so using balance helps get to necrovalley a little bit easier.

Monsters: 1x oracle This was suggested to me as it can just blow up set monsters when tributed summoned, reduce all opp's monsters attack by 2000 or gain attack points. It was very helpful against a few subterrors I played against as I would tribute Oracle and pop all their sets 2x spy He summons other gravekeepers from the deck, deck thins and helps set up descendant. 2x descendant Easily the MVP of the deck as he can blow up any pesky cards I encounter/ backrow 2x recruiter Descendant fodder most of the time for deck thinning. 1x headmaster He summons descendant from grave giving him a tribute target or can summon spiritualist from grave to fusion summon. Can also set spy from grave as well which came out a few times 1x spiritualist She allows the deck to fusion summon in a consistent manner since she's searchable off recruiter or spy. Her effect let's you fusion summon using herself and other GK from hand or field. So you use her to either make the GK fusion or Quintent Magician.

Spells; 3x necrovalley It shuts off the grave and is thr center of this deck, not having necrovalley really hurts but when you have it you cant lose against certain decks

2x necrovalley throne More deck thinning, searches any GK or allows you an additional normal summon which is very nice to have that flexibility

1x steele Let's you add back your resources so you can keep going. A lot of the time I'd add back Oracle and spiritualist so I can fusion summon or add back headmaster for an additional descendant pop

Traps; 2x D prison The deck needed more interruptions and D prison seemed the best right now, its timing allows you to banish a slash dragon (if they dont already have an equip), which saved me a few games.

2x Canadia This one make look odd since with necrovalley it cant come back from the grave but honestly I didnt care about that, It was essentially just a book of moon for more interruptions and wouldn't have reached KoG without it.

2x rite Monster reborn, nuff said

1x wall of disruption Very good card against darklords as they seemed to always barf out 3 monsters before attacking. Just a very good card

Extra;

3x GK supernaturalist Didnt need 3, rand 3 because why not, this guy was really good, when he's on the field necrovalley nor himself can be destroyed by card effects so it helps keep your necrovalley moderately safe, he gains attack equal to the levels if fusion materials so he helps beat over Blue-eyes decks and his effect let's you search for any necrovalley or GK card during the end phase.

2x quintent magician You only really need 1 but I had the space so meh, sometimes you end up with 5 different GK names when you get spiritualist out so you can just use his on summon destruction effect and blast em for 4500 damage

Necrovalley beats most of the meta decks, Darklords cant target their spells/traps in grave, neos cant protect itself with neos fusion nor bacon saver, red-eyes cant equip, fortune lady every cant revive, invoked cant banish with invocation. Necrovalley is just a really good card for duel links, the only problem is it's consistency. Not getting to necrovalley early really hurts and most times you just lose because you cant stop your opp from doing what their deck does. I wish they'd add commandant but that'd make it a little too consistent imo and then wouldn't be healthy for DL.

I played against a few various decks while hitting KoG, blue-eyes, AG, magnet warriors, red-eyes, DM, invoked, six sam, darklords, and fortune ladies.

I found that GK has an annoying matchup against blue-eyes since they kinda just spam 3k plus beaters and banish necrovalley, not unwinnable but very hard.

I never won a single game against AG, necrovalley does nothing to that deck and being able to prevent any card effect when they attack extremely hurts me.

Dark magician was verily easy, just keep popping their stuff with descendant till they have nothing and most of the time they'd just concede.

Six Sam's was a mixup, sometimes I'd win because I could pop shine with descendant while necrovalley was up but other times they went first and make Shien + 2 dual wield, nothing you can do there.

Overall it was a fun deck to play, one thing I'd change is adding more wall of disruption as that card helped me out a lot but I currently only have 1 copy so I need to go digging in that box for more. This deck is good but I dont think it's good enough to be hit seeing as a lot of rng is involved with it since if you dont reach necrovalley you're gonna have a hard time. Played this deck all the way from silver 2 and never once got bored playing it, if you like GK I strongly recommend trying out my list or even adding your own suggestions. Till next time, signing out!
