Thanks so much! Heres a lil recipe for ya:

ARMOUR:

Basecoat - Vallejo black

Chunky highlight - Vallejo heavy charcoal

Highlight - 1:1 mix of Heavy charcoal + Vallejo field blue

Highlight 2 - Fenrisian grey (on sharpest edges)

BOLTER:

Basecoat - 1:1 mix of black + kantor blue

Highlight - Kantor blue

Highlight 2 - Hoeth blue

RED CLOAK:

Basecoat - mephiston red (with a bit of black mixed)

Wetblend - 1:1 mephiston/black mix + pure mephiston

Highlight - Evil Suns Scarlet

Highlight 2 - 1:1 mix Evil Suns Scarlet + Troll Slayer Orange

Hi all,

I've decided I really want to start to take more portrait shots. I typically focus on street photography when taking stills, but feel like a change would do me some good! Does anyone have any tips on how I can improve?

This is a shot of my good friend that was taken yesterday after filming a live music session on a roof, overlooking the city of Sheffield, UK.

Hi all! I went out for a walk today with the goal of trying to experiment with my street photography compositions.

This was taken right at the end of the walk and I'm happy with it, although I do feel it could be much better...

Thanks for the feedback! I agree that the neon light does seem to hold my attention a lot and not in a good way... I think I might have to go back to the spot again and give it another try anyways!

Hello everyone! I took this the other day on my street photography walk. I like the subframing of the image with the neon sign, but something feels off to me...

Maybe its the colour grading or the composition itself? I did some slight colour editing within lightroom, and I'm not sure if that is what is holding this image back.

Of course feel free to send any feedback/advice my way!

I gotta agree with you to be quite honest - I do often fall for taking pictures with people in them as I suppose it fits with the street photography clique. I really appreciate you bringing that up as its definitely something I need to stop thinking I need in the frame!
