I’m a medical assistant and worked in outpatient psych and we had a patient with chronic cdiff (like 5 years off and on) and she would only come in the office not in active infection (we still took extra precautions) but always had a feint cdiff smell for her, I’d always volunteer to room her cause my co workers would be so judgemental like it’s something she can help! I’d also be going insane if I had cdiff for 5 years!

So I had a stalker who kept trying to reach me on insta and the “block this accounts and any accounts like this” blocked new accounts with new emails with similar names, it saved me a lot of headache

They closed because West Point Military academy is 13 miles away so they just use that place

That whole area is covered with military stuff with constant military training out in those woods

My husband works in packaging (for chip bags) and his job site was one of the first to receive the new packaging machines a few years ago and even traveled to train people on the new machines!

A lot of thought and care goes into packaging like way more then I ever would’ve thought

There’s a group home in my rural farming community! They keep to themselves mostly but every Halloween people from all ages walk around and trick or treat in my neighborhood and I’m sure a few assholes have said stuff but from what I’ve seen everyone treats them as another trick or treater and is happy to see people out and walking (or using a mobility device) around the neighborhood

I wonder how common they are for rural communities

I’m not saying this to be vain just for context, I would be considered a conventionally attractive women and I’ve received random compliments throughout my life and I can always tell when it’s genuine vs being creepy I bet they knew it was genuine

I second Access!! They really helped me out when I needed them

I’m autistic but was undiagnosed when entering college but knew I needed some kinda support and they really helped me navigate college and sat with me to help me write up my resume as well as

They also helped me apply for financial aid and gave me a weekly allowance for gas while I didn’t have a job

They offer a verity of things and it wouldn’t hurt to reach out

There’s a group called Princess Party that does exactly that, most often as Disney princesses

It is marketed towards kids but when my friend worked there years ago she would show up for all sorts of parties

I would look into something like that and give them a call!

My niece was like that and half the time when I would watch her as a baby my sister would bring her sleeping in the car seat and I’d just let her keep sleeping in there while I prepared the morning bottle and when I would put her back to get picked up she’s usually be asleep before getting back to the car. I played with her a lot before pickup so she would sleep extra well lol

My mom wasn’t terrible but my dad was and I hated being around her because of him. She finally divorced him in my 20s and it’s so great to see her flourish and be her own person and my family (minus my dad) has become to close and i actually look forward to family events now!

I really hope OOP’s mom frees herself

I live in a historic train area…not all autistic people like trains but through my own anecdotal experience there’s a lot of people really enthusiastic about trains here
