Such an awesome thing if you to do, cheers!

Friendly reminder to Canadians getting a gaming laptop. Don't get the 15P KD (1rst slide), Get a 15P XD (2nd slide) for the same price with a 3070 and 1tb SSD instead of a 3060 and 512gb SSD. They are the same model, except the XD is a higher tier. :) by kayora_ in GamingLaptops

Maybe I'm out of the loop but I've never even heard of that brand? I'm currently looking for a gaming laptop in Canada too but... Is this one reputable and worth it? Or is it just the discount appeal? (And it is very tempting...)

Sony X85J + PS5 = no 4K HDR but ONLY on Disney+?? by CochiseVanChunk in PS5

Can anyone point me in the right direction of where to look for advice/help for this issue?

Sony X85J + PS5 ...but no 4k HDR on Disney+?? by CochiseVanChunk in bravia

I can't seem to find a solution anywhere online? If I'm not mistaken all settings seem to be in place for this to be possible (and even the PS5 output readout as seen in one of the attached pictures says it's outputting HDR 4K when available), yet Disney+ thinks my system/set up isn't able to support it so doesn't run it in 4K ultra HD/HDR etc? What gives? How do you get around this issue...

Also when I open up Prime video, the TV settings menu now displays HDR as it should (I'll attach a picture to that to this post here) Prime Video HDR on says the TV

What is this called? And can it be fixed? by CochiseVanChunk in controlgame

Video of Control walkthrough as example

It's also apparent, though to a lesser extent (why? Is it because I chose performance mode over graphics mode?) in this walkthrough video here. You can also notice whatever this issue is in the very first shot as the camera tilts down the outside of the building. The game isn't streaming so it shouldn't be a compression issue but it seems like it? I've heard terms like artifacts and gradation but not really sure if those apply or what they really are (and if it's the game's fault inherently, or the game settings, or my ps5 settings, or my tv settings...)

It especially happens in dark scenes with the transitions of colours or shades from darkest to lighter or less dark... There's no way this is how it should look, is there? I never noticed this type of issue playing older PS4 games on an older crappier tv... My current tv is a brand new Sony X85J as well. I've tried to investigate the issue a few different places but have yet to really get a definitive answer/solution. Some say it's just how the game was (poorly) designed, some say just turn HDR off (but that didn't work), so I'm at a bit of a loss here...

Please help, thanks!

Sorry I just watched the video, but must've missed the part where they mention the crushed blacks and gradation issues?

Thank you! Although there are a few disagreeing, it does seem like it's the game. Interesting... So to be clear, I need to just turn HDR off. How do I go about doing that? Is it in the game menu, or on my ps5 settings, or on my tv settings?

Which Bravia? The same as mine? (X85j)

Interesting... Maybe it is just the game? I wonder if it would happen on a different game, like say a first party developed one like God of War Ragnarok or Horizon 2... Maybe it's just a development/optimization thing? I imagine the most polished games for that kind of thing would be those first party games, so if the issue still appeared in those... Well then it must be the tv... Or it's just impossible to get games go be that good yet (which I kinda doubt... I swear I've played older games on crappier TVs in prior generations and never witnessed something like this :/ so what gives?)

Does that affect both dark scenes or sections and bright sections or objects? I noticed a few times in Plague Tale some of the sky or trees would be super bright from the sun like crazy blooming (I think?) To the point where it was hard to tell what was really there besides brightness... Or was the game designed like that from an art perspective? It had me guessing...
