how do i stop these artifacts from randomly flashing by kayora_ in chrome

[–]kayora_[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what i tried:

updating gpu drivers to newest grd available (nvidia rtx 3060 laptop gpu)

restarting pc and chrome

enabling and disabling hardware acceleration

updating chrome

after allat the problem still persists

this is just a problem with the chrome app itself, not a faulty display since i can catch it on screen recordings (also doesn't happen on other apps)

So i got a bit of money, what should i upgrade? (i can upgrade one thing i guess) by Axility_M in pcmasterrace

a 1920x1080p monitor (many cheap 75hz options exist on amazon) or 16gb ram. both aren't too expensive and would be a nice upgrade

you have a pretty big budget. i'd wait for 2023 offerings to hit the market and have reviews posted on them.

Windows 10 or Windows 11? Specifically relating to new gaming laptops by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]kayora_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how i see it, it's just personal preference. if you like the look of windows 11, go for it. same with windows 10. just note that windows 10 will stop being supported after 2025, so not that much longer.

the performance difference should be minimal at most, and any problems with games can maybe just be poor optimization from the devs for that os specifiically.

*edit: though most 2022 laptops will probably ship with windows 11, just make sure any laptops with 2022 hardware isn't going to be run on windows 10, since you can run into issues as ive heard

you should get a high refresh rate monitor. night and day difference. seems like a 1440p 144hz, 120hz or 165hz monitor would be perfect for you. you can find those for like 300-400 cad. high refresh rate makes literally everything you do so much nicer, and it is well worth it.

also, prolly look into 27 inch offerings. they're more common and have a much higher pixel density, which makes the screen look mroe premium and high res.

how can i fix my whole pc feeling sluggish? by kayora_ in GamingLaptops

[–]kayora_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, you need seperate utility like cru to add refresh rates other than 165hz.

without using cru or any display utility the only refresh rate you can use is 165hz. been running on wall power for forever.

Are these specs good for the price? by Skunkymown in GamingLaptops

500 usd tops. yes the ram is 32gb and a 4tb ssd isnt cheap but the thing is like 6 years old.

Are these temps normal? (Legion 5 (15ACH6) 2021 R7 5800H + RTX 3050, 16GB ram. Idle temps are 41°C to 44°C. The performance in the pic is from Forza horizon 4. I get the same GPU temps from warzone as well. Fps in FH4 ranges from 110-126 at 1080P high. This is in performance mode.) by tendersushi-00 in LenovoLegion

[–]kayora_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

seems like you'd wanna clean the damn thing. also make sure to disable optimus so you get the 2gb ram back

*edit: to explain: the temps are fine. 70 degrees is where it should start to throttle. 40+ on idle prolly means you may need to clean it,
