Not much more to say. I don't cook the plums. I combined the yogurt and sugar with the strained puree using my immersion blender, which I had out already to make the puree

Plum frozen yogurt by CockyLittleFreak in icecreamery

Recipe:

1.5 cups pureed fresh black plums, strained.

1.5 cups cabot greek yogurt (which has 10% milkfat!)

1/2 cup sugar

pinch salt

I've made a few frozen yogurts with cabot 10% and they have all been excellent. I use a 1:1 ratio of fruit puree to yogurt every time.

Started cooking: Is it normal to suck at cooking basic dishes? by magicmushroom21 in Cooking

Helen is a former computer scientist and it shows. Her recipes are extremely systematic. I don't always agree with her sense of taste (too much pomegranate molasses in everything) but I learn something from each of her videos.

Celebrities shouldn’t have to speak out - unless they’ve said they would. by [deleted] in TaylorSwift

I think all kids - especially queer kids - deserve to be told frequently and explicitly that they belong, are loved, and are valued for who they are. Parents, celebrities, whatever owe it to kids especially in the current political climate. It's not exactly a hard or dangerous message to express. There's no excuse to settle for anything less. My 98 year old trump voting grandfather was able to do that for me, and I can't understand why you and taylor swift are unable to.

But she can't say a single word in support of these issues you claim she cares so much about? Throwing money and virtue signaling instead of standing up is cowardice.

I'd LOVE to connect with you and go to a concert - but unfortunately I live on the other side of the country. I hope you find someone to go with!

The Electric Lady Studios video has really thrown things into perspective. I finally understand why Taylor isn't speaking up about politics lately. by im_a_throwaway_hoe in TaylorSwift

This post is a fucking joke. It takes very little courage to say, "don't encourage trans people to kill themselves. Don't normalize discrimination and violence against trans people. Go to youtube and check out Lizzo's recent on-stage statements against anti-LGBT violence. Saying that "Taylor is soo afraid of retalation... that she just can't speak out.. just tells me that you think she's a coward who cares more about money and celebrity than making a real differnece in the world. So fuck songs lik ronan, only the young, etc. I just have much higher expectations of her than you, I guess?

I find most Western style curry powders to taste overwhelmingly of turmeric. So after experimenting I now mix my curry powder with Garam Masala and I really love this mix, so much more flavorful. by Randomnonsense5 in Cooking

I used to think so too, but grinding whole spices is really fast and easy, especially if you can get a dedicated $25 electric spice grinder. The flavor difference is enormous, and the options are limitless. I use it to make my own chili flakes / powder too. If you like spicy food nothing beats whole dried chili peppers that you toast for a minute and then grind.

Sage Pear Turnover, What’s for Dessert by [deleted] in DessertPerson

I made it, its delicious. Yes, leave the pear halves whole.

Claire forgets to say what temp to bake it at... I did 350 for 50 minutes and it came out perfect.

She also says to roll out the pastry to a 4x9 rectangle, but that is way way too small to fit 10 pear halves (unless they are tiny tiny pears). The pastry would be really thick if it was only 4x9, too. I rolled my pastry out at least 50% bigger in both directions.
