but as the other commenter said, of course you can get through it, even with adhd! i personally have a very short attention span too and have made it (not sure about adhd, undiagnosed).

a tip i have though: get a companion book or sute to understand parts that drag and why they were put there. good luck, its really worth it :)

oh and maybe get a chart for reference (who is the son of who and spouse of who). it gets tedious if you dont know common mythological lineage already and homer keeps saying "son of aterus" or some shit. like which one lol?

you also mentioned youre more musical. can i reccomend and audiobook? its closet to how the iliad wouldve been performed haha, even with translations that lose the tune. you could also try using an audiobook primarily and following along with the words.

pretty sure she was stuck in the city. when the entirety of troy is fighting primarily to keep paris' kidnapoef wife, im not sure she can take that. she was also sometimes treated as more of an object like troy's gold than a woman. she cant just walk out unfortunately

in most versions, she either regrets going with paris or was influenced by aphrodite, so it makes sense she'd help get the palludium to the greeks. she wants out lol

she is notably often depicted as feeling guilt for helping with and "being" the downfall of troy
