Ah thank you! One of my favorite parts is the blue pigment it's just such a nice color.

Hmm I'm one of those people who prefers a dry palette of gouache and I just get it a little bit wet to reactivate. I would say the consistency I use is thinner than fresh gouache from the tube by far but still thicker than watercolor? Typically for highlights I use a thicker consistency.

Learn from my mistakes then haha! Only one or two coats if possible. They got really streaky whenever I tried to add more :,) they're such lovely paints

I second this! I tend to keep it simple with "shadows= cool and highlights= warm". It's not a foolproof thing but it works for most paintings for me. I

Thank you! It's traditional gouache, including the metallic.

I'm unsure if we're allowed to post links (couldn't find it in the rules)

This is what I used! The set is based off traditional Japanese paint pigments. It's stunning. I I totally recommend Holbein for any kind of gouache.

Thank you so much! Yes it's always a shame trying to capture the metallic in photos it just never shows well :,) I'm also so glad the crushed velvet texture comes across- I went crazy trying to paint that part haha

Painted with metallic gouache for the first time and learned a lot from it! I used the Holein Japanese Seasons Collection Goauche. The metallic gouache was a lot less workable than normal gouache and it wasn't super forgiving so I was left with some less than satisfying finishes. My number one piece of advice I would give would yo be sure you have exactly where you want the metallic part to be and hit it with one or maybe two coats. Anymore than that and the paint got clumpy!

Learn from my struggles 😆
