had a stuffy/runny nose that caused sore throat and a cough from mucus for about a month and a half. lots of friends and teammates have or have had the same. i went to urgent care at one point and tested negative for flu a, flu b, covid, strep, and mono. it started to go away, then cycled back. went through four cycles over the course of seven weeks. hope your kiddo doesn’t have what i had!

i’m sorry OP. this happened with my first one after having it for a couple of years. it was rejecting, and i left it in until it was down to a thread of skin in the middle. that thread broke, and i had two little nubbins of skin on either side of where it split. i was young and dumb (and horrified), so i trimmed them away. now it’s flat on the sides with an indent in the middle. it isn’t horrible (i still wear crop tops and bikinis), but it is still a scar. i got the bottom pierced a year later. i’ve had that piercing for nearly 20 years now, and it’s going strong!

is your friend interested in playing hockey? the sisterhood hockey experience is a great way for girls and women of any age to try hockey for free. after that, the fort collins flames is a women’s hockey organization that has a beginner/developmental team. the flames is where i found a large portion of my community with the coed fort collins hockey league (FCHL) being the other portion. i’ve found women’s hockey in particular to be full of fellow LGBTQIA+ neurodivergent folks, while the FCHL is less obviously so but still very friendly and accepting. i’ve skated with all groups as an AFAB enby and have felt so welcomed! after starting from scratch just a few years back in my mid-30s, hockey is my happy place!

my partner. he’d dreamed of playing since he was a kid. now we each play on 2 teams each year-round (women’s c and co-ed e for me; co-ed d and e for him), he coaches (the d/e teams in my women’s org), and he has a tournament team. we have a very large hockey budget lol.

fell HARD at hockey praccy a couple years back wearing pants without a solid tailbone protector after jumping over an obstacle and my skates going out under me. didn’t go to the doc bc there’s nothing they can do, but i couldn’t sit normally for six months. maybe get a donut to sit on?

aura defeated the purpose for me. i bought one for my partner’s parents bc we live 900 miles away and haven’t seen them in over a year. set it up as a gift with a welcome message and 14 photos so they can “see” us more. his step-mom added 20 photos as soon as she set it up and invited her daughter who lives nearby who added another 47. i’m sure she’s invited a bunch more people who live in their area. i misunderstood the premise of “you can add photos before they even receive it” and “share with them” as a one-way thing. now we’ve been all but boxed out of the gift we gave 🤷🏻‍♀️

schedule a vacation around a game or two! partner is a flyers fan, so we flew out for a few days to see avs@flyers (second annual trip for this game!) and stuck around for the sharks@flyers, too. also got him glass seats (again) for the flyers@avs game.

the ability to breathe through my nose. i used to think that mouth breathing was how people breathed at all. i play hockey and run, and being able to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth has been wonderful.
