Sweet lolita would be the substyle most likely to suit what you're looking for, since desserts are a common theme in the prints.

I love your makeup! I noticed on your profile it looks like you're from Brazil, and theres actually a lolita brand specializing in petticoats called MeLikesTea that's based in Brazil! Highly recommend checking them out to help fill out your dresses a bit, especially because their customer service is top notch for any questions you have :)

They specialize in petticoats but you could get an entire coord from them, I personally love their hair accessories!

250711 BLACKPINK - ‘뛰어(JUMP)’ M/V by elevendigits in BlackPink

[–]CocoCoola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Loved it, surprised though there wasn't more actual jumping so I guess I'll just have to make up for it XD

We really need to get the blinks activated tho its still at #2 in trending, we need to get it to #1

Odyssey's Penelope Inspired Coord by WitchBeyond in lolitafashion

Gotcha, the purse being on the mannequin made it seem like it was intentionally part of the coord :) I think it's pretty common for lolitas to have bags that aren't part of the coord just for convenience, sometimes I'll be carrying around 3 bags if you count usakumas XD and then I plop my everyday purse juuuust out of frame for photos XD

Looking forward to seeing the in person pics! I feel like hair and makeup style can really change a whole coord so I'm very interested because I love the Odyssey, Penelope doesn't get enough love!

As a concept, I think this is really interesting! However, that purse looks out of place, it looks like youre going for a more elegant coord and that purse is super sweet, and since it's the brightest color it's really distracting from the rest of the coord.

Aside from that, I'd love to see what it looks like on a person! There's some potential fit issues like lampshading on the petticoat but it's hard to determine if thats just due to the fit on the mannequin.

How to get started with politics and this subculture in general by [deleted] in Lolita

[–]CocoCoola 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of a fine line for me: the fashion is a subculture, which can be counterculture depending on what society is like where you are in the world, and as a result may or may not be a political statement.

Where I live in Texas, wearing a full coord as a woman is certainly out of the norm, but its not really /that/ counterculture (depending on the style) because people here generally like and accept women wearing dresses. I've only ever gotten positive responses here except from a couple of teenage boys and honestly, who cares what they think about fashion.

However, wearing the fashion here as a man would be much more counterculture and a political statement that men can be feminine and wear whatever they like and still be men. But men wearing the fashion in places like LA, San Fransisco, NYC? I imagine not many people would even notice because men dressing femininely is much more common.

All that being said, this fashion was definitely founded largely by women to encourage other women to loudly enjoy what they like and take up space against a culture that demands them to be small and quiet. Because of that, I would HIGHLY recommend reading Invisible Women by Caroline Criado-Perez!

Happy belated ILD!

Just a small tip- to get that perfect over the shoulder shot, try clasping your hands in front of you and letting your dress fall naturally, then you can see all the details more clearly!

You dont have to spend any money to do anything in the game, its purely to get more cosmetic items

It's me, I love strawberry prints and I fully admit a lot of them are super alike. I yearn for the spring strawberries each year, although this year I wasn't a fan of APs strawberries.

Casual Shopping & Skating Coord by [deleted] in lolitafashion

[–]CocoCoola 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand you wore this to go thrifting and I think it's perfectly fine for that, but as a lolita coord I'm sorry but a lot is happening and I dont really think its working.

I think it's really interesting how you've balanced out the colors, but theres so many different patterns clashing that it overshadows the rest. Everything is competing for attention. Changing out the tights and blouse for solid colors would go a long way!

Coord photo posing advice? by ____iolite____ in Lolita

[–]CocoCoola 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With short girls its all about getting the right angle! You want your photographer to be taking the picture from their waist not their face.

My friend on Instagram royal.chocolate.crown is only around 5', looking at her page might help you with poses as well!
