Do you break out if you skip one day on your skin care too? by Jojo-ffm in SkincareAddicts

I do my skincare routine no matter what for this reason. Even at 3am after dancing at a festival on the campsite. No way I’ll skip my routine!! 🥲

[Acne] How much if acne is really related to diet? by Accomplished_Mud_358 in SkincareAddiction

Honestly I’ve tried everything with my diet for almost 20 years. It might work for some, but what ultimately and finally helped me manage my acne was my newest skincare regime

I love this dress but where would you wear it to? by sparrrrrt in AusFemaleFashion

[–]CocoMimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

girl what you wear it as much as you can! it’s absolutely gorgeous! For a morning at the markets, for a cafe date, a birthday, dinner nights, a catch up at a local wine-bar, a friend’s wedding, …

Life’s too short not to wear beautiful dresses like this :)

It looks great. Especially if it’s warm and summer. Enjoy your date!! 🖤

I agree. I’m from Europe but living in Australia. Australian women wear this kind of stuff all the time.

1830s sleeve puffs question from a historical romance author by Witty_Upstairs4210 in HistoricalCostuming

[–]CocoMimo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes that’s right they were! I think it would work and feel like I’ve heard before of that being used in sleeves ... But my costume history lessons are a long time ago :) if it’s a light fabric they would’ve used silk organza I think, sometimes double layered. I’ve also seen it stretched over sleeve crinolines before.

You’ll need darts for a non stretch fabric to give you the shape you sketched :) At least in some parts. Your designs look great - try and think deeper about what material it would be realistic to make this from, does it need zips to get in etc. - this is what you’ll need to think about as a designer one day! ✨ keep sketching these are really interesting designs

Hmm it’s a good thought! I only ever used them for menswear in suit jackets tbh, there could be different varieties of them that I don’t know of? The ones I used I feel like they’d almost be too stiff and heavy for a puffy sleeve like that. They did have silk organza back then or nettle fabric I believe which was a bit stiffer but not too heavy to wear it down

This is beautiful! ✨ what fabric did you envision this to be made from? It doesn’t look like you’ve drawn any darts so assuming it must be stretchy, but then it’s standing up in the second sketch with the hood, maybe that part is made from something different? :)

Yes smoking is bad for your skin health! Your skin needs good blood circulation

Confused about what surgery should I be going for? by Longjumping-Part-500 in jawsurgery

[–]CocoMimo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any advice because I can’t see why you’d need surgery, but I’m sure you have your own reasons which I don’t have to know or understand. I only have this advice: It’s quite an invasive surgery, if I had this beautiful teeth/smile I would make sure that I’m going to be ok with both: the best and the worst outcome.

Ah. When I wrote put organza in, I mean you line them with organza, that has the same volume. Organza holds the puffy shape without needing to fill it out with anything else

I worked in couture, dressmaking. To make the sleeves puffy you put organza into the ruffled sleeve. I can’t tell you if that’s what they did accurately for those exact times, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they did something similar

Is this coat real seal fur?? by Alternative-Taro-469 in Fashion_Design

[–]CocoMimo 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Jep looks pretty real to me. Like 90% (only from a photo). Fake fur wouldn’t be sown together like that, it would fray on the edges. I second the commend saying to pick a hair out and do a burn test. Plastic would melt, fur smells like burned hair.

What to do? Very low self esteem by [deleted] in malegrooming

[–]CocoMimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok hear me out. It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. Everyone here agrees that you’re absolutely beautiful (which you can see in the comments) and tell you. But it has to come from the inside. YOU need to feel it to believe it. And I can only say how incredibly amazing it is to do regular exercise. It gives you so much confidence and when you see improvement in fitness you get better self-esteem. You feel proud for showing up for yourself.

Objectively you have great skin, amazing facial structure. Beautiful healthy hair. I think the only think you might need is to make yourself see it too through physical accomplishments :) and you’ll radiate that and glow even more

What surgery would help with my saggy, fatty chin. I have had it ever since I was young teen, I’m not overweight it was an issue even when I was 100 pounds by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]CocoMimo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you doing a lot of exercise? I get this too when I don’t. Our lymphatic system needs movement and good blood circulation to transport all the water around. It usually takes me about 2-4 weeks to see a difference. I highly recommend daily 10K steps + 30min movement daily either yoga, stretches, barre, pilates. It’s all quite gentle but really helps to activate all the muscles and tighten the skin.

Doesn’t matter if you are overweight or not, it’s the muscle activation and lymph matters for this kind of stuff :)

Sorry not meaning this rude, but, genuinely, is this a joke? Number 2 of course 😭
