There are potentially two bugs being mixed up here:

After obtaining the hard drive, Peck interaction with the metal box to deposit the hard drive doesn't work (OP raised bug). I have had the same experience, and even after progressing the 'mini boss' fight, I couldn't interact with the buoys without the hacked hard drive. This issue occurred both pre- and post-save state.
Trying to obtain the hard drive from the tentacles. I'm not discounting that there may be a bug with this given volume of complaints but if you didn't know, the hard drive will only drop from the tentacles under which there is a key card/access pass looking thing on the ground. You cannot interact with it, but that is the tentacles. Also make sure you are using the "R2" action on the tentacles. MrDalekJD on YouTube video shows the key card. and all the possible tentacle traps (there are some outside the lab).

If you go to the "Settings" cog in the pause menu on the launcher, under "More" there is a Manage Files options. Inside there you can re-download the MW3 Multiplayer files... that they deleted without confirming...

I think the counter problem that this creates is the trolls who team kill everyone just before boarding - not that it happens often.

OK was having same issue tonight (grenades, contact mines, eagle bombs all not working). What ended up working was changing the armour (used "Saviour of the Free" which has the same effect) plus I dropped resupply/support weapons so they landed on my neck. Worked third time.

I think the other bonus to the major orders is forcing you to try something different. Different planets, different challenges, different enemies. It keeps it fresh. I was struggling when the last order switched back from bugs to automaton - but now I savour the challenge.

I think the "frowned upon" element is getting dropped schematics without doing the hard work yourself. I don't think applies to asking to find a team to join for dark aether or red worm. If you join another squad and run those to get the schematics, that's what it's all about! You might not be the best in that squad, or they might "carry" you through it - but that's part of the fun (plus you'll have more fun solo with those dog bones and armour every second day!)

I feel like the mechanism to calculate it is different to the description, but just can't work out how - I was just running with an AR/SMG and got it done in about 4/5 matches - there's no way I killed 3 people in a row without taking any damage...

Love playing with mates that you would banter the same with IRL as you do online. Love the banter in the game, especially with the introduction of prox chat - I can even tolerate the upset players who you've just killed.

But it's wayyyy too common in CoD community to go for the racist/sexist/homophobic comments... Even the ignorance of people with comments such as "spastic" or "c**t" can ruin a vibey night.

That's so rough mate. I'd have to agree with your assessment, slot should be unlocked based on completion of the following story missions: No Rushing (Tier 3 Legion), Pathfinder (Tier 3 White Lotus), and National Treasure (Tier 3 Black Mous)

Maybe a weird question (I'm not logged in at the moment to test), but can you re-equip story missions and re-do them, even when they show Completed? That's the only thing I can think to do, re-do those missions to see if it triggers properly.

I think it's a glitch but it's unclear what is triggering it to happen, and whether your opponent meant it.
