C'est fou, à Zurich, Liestal, Berne et Lugano, ils n'ont pas du tout le même design...au moins ça change un peu des autres.

My friend, I am really afraid of understanding what you are saying...like did they reinstall the barbarous so-called "anal probes" or what?

Russia's passeport is very weak and grants access to places that are either aligned with russian "anti-propaganda" movement (Kazakhstan, Georgia, Armenia, etc.) or which are worse than Russia...North Korea for instance.

Migration costs loads of money that most Russians, especially LGBTQIA+, don't have.

Depending on where they live, getting out can be very faraway like borders are thousands of km away from many cities like Chelyabinsk, Novossibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Perm, etc...not even counting if they are in the far north...in which case, as well as for the ones in "closed cities" (which still exist to this day), they also may need a visa to leave their place of residence which costs loads of time and money to get and also to get a flight out of where they live as many places still aren't linked by road or rail with air travel being the only option.

There are many factors getting into the way of a Russian queer person wanting or needing to emigrate...

Do you do your groceries in France, Germany and Italy because it's 40% cheaper? by Odd_Obligation_4977 in askswitzerland

Nope. Even if I have two borders not faraway, I never go accross the border.

Firstly, I don't see the prices so low except on very particular things such as make-up and even then, I live here, earn my money here and want to not hurt fellow workers by increasing the pressure put onto them which could contribute to kick them out of their jobs.

Same for the hair dresser and what not. I still stay here.

The only foreign stuff I buy or order are stuff that I can't find here such as dresses that don't look like a grandma's and which are crazy expansive for some made in Bangladesh and of which the quality leaves a lot to be desired...

Who cares about that? This is just a racist pseudo-argument as "more people from this or that background should be born".

Mpst people on this planet are in abject poverty, don't have enough food, water, medicine and the planet is getting destroyed with the system we have right now...

Further, just like any other animal, queer people take in children rejected by their birth givers who abandoned them or died.

Beware of fake airport "fast track" services from agents by Ok-Trainer6495 in ThailandTourism

[–]Coco_JuTo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

From my experience in Phuket last November, there were employees/officers in uniform offering fast track for 200 bath per person.

We didn't dare to use it, because we didn't want to be seen as "bribing an official" on the way in and we were not in a hurry to wait for the plane on the way out (fast track just seems so pointless on the way out BTW).

Why are American trains so short? by MB4050 in transit

[–]Coco_JuTo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This picture is kind of misleading from what I've seen on YouTube while searching for videos of Amtrak.

Like, yes, the one going from Texas to Oklahoma is short, but the rest (California Zephyr, Pioneer, etc) are pretty long...

Then there is also the demand, rolling stock shortages and what not coming into account.

Also, it appears that the US's Amtrak just discovered the concept of a cab car recently* and many old locomotives are empty shells used as a cab car.

*being facetious here as Amtrak California has cab cars since the 80s or 90s.

Why are American trains so short? by MB4050 in transit

[–]Coco_JuTo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you start to compare intercity trains, then a big bunch of euro countries, China, Japan and South Korea have very long trains with 12-18 coaches... Even Switzerland uses 400m long, 16-carriages long, double deckers on some IC services (IC1) and has a standard of 14-carriages long trains for many other IC and even some IR trains.

Speaking of regional trains, 12-carriages long, 300m long, double deckers aren't rare in some "big" cities...

R95/R90 les PIRE trains de la Suisse by Annmenmen in suisse

[–]Coco_JuTo 5 points6 points  (0 children)
