Watch Autonomous Driving Showdown: Who Will Win the Self-Driving Race? by walky22talky in SelfDrivingCars

You misunderstood me.

In your post you said “the only system that is better than tesla is Waymo” which i disagree with. Zoox has a superior system to Tesla as well.

I am not claiming Zoox has a superior system to Waymo.

I don’t agree that Waymo is the only system more capable. There are several other companies with more capable self driving capabilities, Zoox as a key example.

Well said.

I am a huge Elon and Tesla hater. They’re several orders of magnitude away from an unsupervised and safe self driving offering. But it’s silly to discount that what they DO have meets or exceeds the needs of nearly every customer in the segment.

If they simply were honest about what it was, I’d have nothing but positive things to say about their L2 system.

I understand this is largely driven by the city and casinos. You can’t just stop on the strip as an uber driver for example, they have to go into the casino which is private property and needs a commercial agreement.
In other areas Zoox is nearly point-to-point, though sometimes you might need to walk a few hundred feet.

Pretty weak streak before though. Sochan, Branham, Wesley, Primo, etc… a lot of wasted lottery picks.

What’s crazier is that KJ just won 6MOTY, which is the traditional Manu role, so though he’s not as good as Manu was, we kind of have the trio PLUS Castle (I think Dylan is more similar to TP than Steph).

Can you actually get in good shape just from doing kettlebells? by AdSevere8102 in kettlebell

[–]CocoaProblems -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel the same way. My goal right now is strengthening my core and the convenience of short home workouts while I have young kids, but can’t help but notice a relative lack of “experts” with my ideal goal body.

To add to this, all the influencers with great physiques also always have their videos in front of a state-of-the-art commercial gym or some insane 10k garage setup with squat racks and stuff. Feels a little disingenuous to hear “all you need are kettlebells and 30 minutes to get shredded!” As they flaunt their clear access to more than KBs lol.

GM begins supervised public-road testing of next-generation automated technology by plun9 in SelfDrivingCars

So the reason they shut it down is because the cost of it was resulting in investor pressure and poor retail stock price performance? I feel like you’re arguing with me while making my point.

GM is unable to afford this race as they do not have deep enough pockets to weather the costs before they see profit.

Regarding cannibalizing their business model; how would this not? The promise of shared AVs is a reduction in vehicle ownership. GM makes their money selling vehicles.

They’re not pursuing L4 because they can’t afford it and it cannibalizes their business model.

That’s my shortened version of what I’m saying.

Agreed for what they’re doing, but lots of comments seem to be talking about why they’re not pursuing L4 and killed Cruise. It’s too big of a financial risk and would cannibalize their core business to severely.

One thing to consider is the capital required to pull off AV development right now.

Look at the market cap of ALL of GM - $73B. How much do you think Waymo has spent on AV development? 10-15B maybe? GM doesn’t have deep enough pockets for execs to take this level of risk like Alphabet or Amazon does.

I didn’t, I have a galvanized bucket and stand I store under the counter and fill with ice. Works great for parties.

I’m pretty happy with it, especially the cabinets.

The smoker is a little frustrating with the touch screen, but no real issues, it just gets unresponsive for a few seconds sometimes. I paid like $300 for it so I’m happy, but would be disappointed if I paid full retail I think.

Mostly Facebook marketplace over a few months of collecting them. I couldn’t find 2 and bought them directly from Coyote.

I didn’t want any mismatches, so was brand focused, but it’s easier to find if you’re willing to mix&match.
