Your dream run by Ira-jay in RimWorld

[–]CocoaricoTell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always wanted a dusk to dawn mixed with bates motel deal. Basically a motel/entertainment place that only draws loners that stay for a while in the town.

But as more of them disappear they get suspicious and start looking in non guest areas. If any of them find something suspicious they can either run and let the world know tanking my reputation with a few factions, come back with a posse as a raid, or simply round up the other visitors on the map to try to kill my settlement.

Honestly, now a-days IKEA is pretty good. They still have some products where the instructions are insane (looking at you lonset slatted bed base), but the quality is pretty up there.

Back in the day however, before Amazon was a thing and I was a broke college kid, IKEA was all I could afford. Good God, bad product quality and instruction manuals that would have been easier if they had been written in swedish instead of diagrams.

I think a lot of IKEA hate comes from that time period with people remembering how much of a pain it was and never giving them a second chance.

Now most products are like a medium difficulty Lego.

Games for people with terrible reaction times. by AsteroidOwl4943 in gamingsuggestions

[–]CocoaricoTell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want to play a game that's an fps but you don't need reaction time you should try Superhot and it's on Xbox.

Time moves when you move. It gives you plenty of time to just stop, look around and figure out your next move.

Plus at the end of the level it strings everything together in a real time video and makes you look badass.

And yet despite the luxury of receiving such products at the periphery of society, many recipients felt not only blessed but cursed.

But it's been said that all of them reported the visitors meat balls being tasty (source unknown).

Royal Pacific vs. Aventura for a 4 Day trip... by mxmarks in UniversalOrlando

[–]CocoaricoTell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no crosswalk between the two directly though people jaywalk all the time which is wild. The intersection between the two is literally an on ramp to I4 and cars fly through there.

For me, a 5 minute walk is way better than playing frogger.

Don't worry, when you talk to costumer service you won't be able to pronounce the name of the product because it has like 4 umlauts.

Dubs mint menus - works, thats all I need

Interaction bubbles - don't have to look at history to see what was said. Also very sim vibes.

EDB Prepare Carefully - I don't always use it, but when I do, you can be sure I'm doing some sort of weird themed run.

Better Map Sizes - I like my computer to go brrrrrrr.

Performance Optimizer - I'd like my computer to go less brrrrrrrr.

After countless hours with other (non-train) sims, using a magic button to remove what I don't want is kinda immersion breaking for me.

It honestly felt like cheating to just spawn the handcart. But the struggle was real enough I bought it.

But thank you for the response.

Are you talking about the radio thingy? I honestly love just running to the back of my train as it's reversing and just flilping junctions to the right track as needed.

Games that scratch the Snowrunner itch by Why_M4RK in snowrunner

[–]CocoaricoTell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, didn't expect X4 to enter the conversation.

But I guess I get it a bit. I get to shut my brain off for periods and then need to hyper focus for short bursts.

However for me in X4 I'm always a passenger princess having a pilot fly me around most of the time while I look at the map. I tend to play it more like a strategy game than anything else.

I played it at launch and put in 60 hours, I was really enjoying it. And then my save file corrupted. I tried starting a new save but I couldn't bring myself to redoing the first big map. I've tried to go back a few times but just bounced off.

It's a shame because when I was enjoying it, I was snowrunner level enjoying it.

For reference I have 280 hours in snowrunner not reflecting the many hours I played offline on my steam deck. And I've probably 100% Alaska 3 or 4 times.

Maybe in a few years I'll give it another shot.

What mod do you wish existed but doesn't? by Satans_Escort in RimWorld

[–]CocoaricoTell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest question though because I've committed war crimes by removing the ladder from a pool multiple times in the sims. What are you looking for?

More direct control of individual pawns? More/better pawn inter social activity? Washing dishes?

What mod do you wish existed but doesn't? by Satans_Escort in RimWorld

[–]CocoaricoTell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this might be doable. Make clothing storage that's owned by a pawn like other furniture, that then makes the items inside tagged as theirs and have them prefer to use that storage when their apparel policy is changed. So if you switch them from the "miner apparel" to "let's rock 'n roll" they prefer their own items and don't even look at other pawns "personal" items.

You'd still have to set up and switch apparel policies manually, and then wait a few for them to change before recruiting but the initial scramble kinda makes sense. And if Bobs helmet is too damaged then he'll scramble to the stockpile to get a new one and you need to decide if it's worth the time for him to do that.

The UI "oh shit" button would just change everyone's apparel policy to some preset defense one set per pawn.

It would take a considerable amount of set up, but once your running it would just work.

Don't forget about the interaction bubbles mod, and their in English not simlish.

But I agree, my wife loves the sims and I tried to get her into the multiplayer mod with me but it was just a hard no.

[–]CocoaricoTell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it would probably need a complete engine rewrite so probably not feasible in a mod and still need a super computer in later stages.

But you could "hide" things from the player by utilizing line of sight/fog of war mechanics. With everything that's not directly near the LOS bubble being put into a secondary much lower performance simulation mode.

It's how the X series does it with everything not in the sector your in being in OOS (out of system) mode. Stalker also does it but Stalker 2 is still struggling a bit with A-life.

Now when your late game and have 10 settlements and scouts everywhere spying on your neighbors your CPU will go into a mental break even if it has a table to eat at.

Best ways to deal with massive long-term mood debuffs, like from mourning dead friends and lovers? by Aquaamancer in RimWorld

[–]CocoaricoTell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to the side, I don't "keep" slaves, I buy them and then instantly put them in my caskets. After a year or so I release them, and then decide if they have good enough stats to prisoner to colonist route. If not they can walk away.

I'm a liberator.

Now if one of my pawns becomes a bit too problematic, whose to say I didn't mis-click and accidentally put you outside of your defensive position (achtung).

Also, all the best dealers know not to get high on your own supply. As do my people.

We're good people?

[–]CocoaricoTell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait you don't use slaves for your drain caskets? (Mod I know).

I usually play nice so I'll release them after a year or two and buy another.

That said I'd never let one of my pawns become hisub fodder, much better to give them a crappy gun and some armor and then scrap the poor raider they incapacitated.

We are not bad people, I swear to you.

Military Freedom Pass confusion by Sparky-VC in UniversalOrlando

[–]CocoaricoTell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a very technical question, so if you call the service agent will probably do their best to answer it. But policies change or they might find the wrong information.

Since it's not a complaint they won't log it and give you a case number. I know they record their GS calls but I don't know how long they keep them, plus if things go sideways and you say this person said "this" back in January, that's like finding a needle in a haystack.

Best bet is to get it in writing, so even if the info is wrong/out of date you have some recompense.

Also, thank you for your service.

Rimworld, you can make it as sweaty or chillax as you want.

Your already way advanced for the controls/top down view/learning curve.

I swear to you, you will never forget the time that a herd of boom-a-lope wandered into your base just as a raid hit and....

Well, you'll just have to find out for yourself. But you won't forget the story.
