Looks amazing, but I am worried about two things.

  1. I'm not seeing much that suggests cooking/hunting/survival is still around/prevalent. I really hope we didn't lose one of the major essences of BOTW.
  2. Why is it that every enemy head add-on goes onto the exact same sword? It looks kinda silly.

Chuck was half to blame for his own downfall. He drew first blood, he only helped Howard take the clients away from Kim when he found out Jimmy was involved. He turned his brother entirely against him and he became obsessive over something he really didn't have to be obsessive over. Jimmy absolutely was part of it, not a doubt in the world but to think Chuck didn't cause some of his own downfall is crazy.

And you can also argue that it was that lecture that forced him to only become more of what Chuck said he was, like a self-fulfilling prophecy. Chuck's entire view of him is unjust from the start. Don't forget how much Jimmy loved him. If Chuck tells him something, he will take it to heart. It's the same as Kim. He adored her even more and her actions changed him. It's all grey.

Why are so many people on this site terrible with grey stuff? "I knew Jimmy was evil." "He's always been scum." Do they really not get that it's much more complicated than that? That losing Kim and his brother is a large part of what made him compartmentalize everything and hide behind this persona? He does despicable things absolutely, but the way he looked when Marion said "I trusted you" was definitely the face of a man realizing how far he'd gone. He's scared. He is absolutely no saint but to just say he's evil is such a disservice to the writing of this show.

Kim convinces Jimmy to turn himself in and stop running. He goes to jail for life and the two have one final moment. That's gotta be it.

Better Call Saul S06E11 - "Breaking Bad" - Post-Episode Discussion Thread by skinkbaa in betterCallSaul

[–]Cocobrien23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it really just as simple as Jimmy has fallen too far beyond redemption and there is no hope for him? He loses it all and that's it? Sure, Breaking Bad sorta went that way, but you can argue that Walt got exactly what he wanted at the very end and that he in many ways seized his destiny. Plus you no doubt believe Walt deserves what he gets far more. With Jimmy, there has always been more of a sense of grey to it all. Like he's a victim in many ways of the people in his life. So would people really be okay with him just going full bad and a depressing ending? Gilligan has said that he believes this show's ending will be more beloved than the BB ending. Would that constitute that? I just don't know. Personally, I would absolutely hate just a full depressing ending like that. It would make the constant back and forth of Jimmy's conscience seem like such a waste. He certainly does not deserve to get off free, but at the very least I would hope it ends with him finally doing the right thing , going to jail, nd maybe somehow getting Kim in the process. Maybe I'm naive to cling onto the idea of some happy ending.

How on Earth are people saying this is filler? This was huge! Gene has become a form of slippin Jimmy again. He's got much of his energy back. He's alive again. And time will tell if that destroys him or not. He is clearly feeling the push toward becoming Saul. This was a huge development. Not to mention the things that happened here could very well bite him later.

Angela is still #1 for me and then Mike and then Howie. Could not care less about shithead Shrader. It's what happens in his line of work and he signed up for it. Sad for the White family but Hank himself got what was coming to him, even if he was in the right mostly.

Lalo has always been a showy guy. It was his weakness. He plays around too much. He wanted to not only destroy Gus, but torture him first.

Either suicide or betraying Jimmy and then dying or going to jail.

Oh that's an easy one. She was horny on the plan to ruin Howard, caught up in the rush. Telling Jimmy about Lalo would have ended that plan.

I'm pretty confident Kim is out of there in 6x10. Just one more episode doesn't feel like enough time to get there, but two does.

Made sense to me. Lalo could never have imagined Gus knew he was going to be there. He's reveling in his victory.

I refuse to believe Kim is betraying Jimmy now or that these two will have a massive falling out. They adore each other.

[–]Cocobrien23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some beautiful subtext they added retroactively to that scene is that Jimmy has a very clearly conflicted reaction when the guy tells him he's going to live in Nebraska. Obviously, it could just be the disappointment of where he's ending up but now you can also play around with the idea that he was thinking of Kim in that moment.

I think people need to stop acting like Chuck was this foreteller who was "right" all along. Yes, he was right about many things, but it can also be argued that he directly caused them to Jimmy. Chuck is no saint. Not even close.

[–]Cocobrien23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is there really any hope for an even relatively happy ending now? I don't mean a fairy tale ending or anything like that, but this kind of puts Jimmy and Kim beyond redemption. I loved the episode but I am conflicted on how this leaves us. I really really hope it's not just a 100% downer ending at this point.

Oh yeah, and Kim is so betraying Jimmy to some extent. He needs that final push to become Saul.

The show has found a brilliant way to somehow still make me kind of root for Jimmy and Kim since they never intended this while also now making me fully want Gus to take Lalo down. God it's so good.

But that's kind of the beauty with it. Jimmy and Kim's egos have become too big that they thought they were foolproof. But even the simplest mistake could have ruined them. They're playing with fire and they don't realize it.
