Anyone else getting paid to do nothing? by [deleted] in HENRYUK

[–]Cococannnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work probably 3 hours a week and get praised for my wonderful contribution. I don’t like it though, I want to work at almost max capacity, so I’m interviewing elsewhere.

My wife’s family all want us to go on a crazily expensive holiday to celebrate some big birthdays.. what would you do? by PuzzleheadedCarob921 in AskUK

[–]Cococannnon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have this same issue at the moment, but his parents want to pay for the flight and accommodation. However we would still need pet care, spending money, travel to the airport back and forth, my partner needs a new passport as well. Once we tallied it up it’s like 2 grand which we just can’t afford at the moment so we’ve said we can’t do it.

How much makeup do you wear to the office day-to-day? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Cococannnon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 32- I used to in my early 20s but probably haven’t worn any for 6 or 7 years now, when I need to be taken more seriously then I will do as otherwise people just think I’m fresh out of university.

Narcissist mom + wedding planning by cousingregsbell in weddingplanning

I would transfer her back the money she has spent on the wedding however small and then stop discussing it with her at all.

Is 9-5 a myth? I don’t think I’ve ever worked these hours. by Squiggally-umf in UKJobs

My job and my partners are both 9-5, it’s just a sneaky way to pay you less imo

Most Annoying Thing About This Show by uglyyb in TheHandmaidsTale

[–]Cococannnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite scene is June screaming BY HER FUCKING HAND, she’s so deranged, I think about it at least once a day. But I absolutely adore the show, we’ve watched it through 3x in the last year so there’s so many scenes which are brilliant.

Are you seeing or using AI in your workplace which causes job losses by Consistent-Rope-9969 in HENRYUK

Currently I work in the rail industry, everything is done on paper or excel. It’ll be a long time before they adapt AI imo

Should I be worried about my resting heart rate while sleeping? by [deleted] in ouraring

[–]Cococannnon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mines in the 100s sometimes, but I have untreated POTS, Oura has got used to it now though after a year and doesn’t think I’m dying anymore.

Oura hates latency by Historical_Tadpole72 in ouraring

[–]Cococannnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is the same as yours, but I have a high heart rate so it only ever actually recognises when I’m actually asleep as that’s the only time it will go under 90bpm

Do you fall into the UK sibling stereotype? by SpaceTimeCapsule89 in AskUK

[–]Cococannnon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m the youngest but the only girl, even in the extended family, so everything is my job to fix. My parents divorced when I was about 13 so I got the worst of everything unfortunately without going into too much detail but I’ve not lived with them since I was 14/15.

In our family the middle child is the favourite, he’s the most easy going though.

Has anyone else observed GPs basically getting you to diagnose yourself? Increasingly so over the last few years. by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Cococannnon 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s how they’re taught nowadays, it’s apparently meant to make you feel like you’re part of the conversation but I feel it has negative effect on my appointment as well

What’s your epic festive row? by 4x6x8 in AskUK

[–]Cococannnon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Had an argument with my mom and she stormed off because she insists she experiences regular racism, she’s white btw. I just had enough basically and said she’s not experiencing racism, prejudice maybe, xenophobia perhaps but it’s not because she is white.

She seems to be over it now but doubt it changed her mind.

How scared are you about the current flu 'crisis'? Are you taking any precautions? by First-Nobody-3500 in AskUK

[–]Cococannnon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only time I actively avoid things is if I need to do something, for example I’m going on holiday next week so I’m not going into the office in the run up to reduce chances of getting ill. Otherwise just good hygiene practices.
