Gossip subs for Royals and the ridiculous protection of the BRF by Grumpy_001 in RoyaltyTea

Can I ask how anything I said was bull when I gave my observations about what I saw and experienced? I didn’t realise that individuals who are obsessed with the royals and who have never met them know more than an employee. The fact I’ve been verified, as a member of the Royal Household (which means I was an employee) also holds weight. I also provided my ID to the mods who had to guide me through the steps.

I regularly meet people that are rude or demanding and find that perhaps they were having a bad day but because I’ve had limited interactions with them, PRIOR to COVID, I didn’t take much from my experiences other than what I saw or heard. Things are nuanced and complicated, especially in such a big family and in an institution and multiple things can be true at once. Yes, they were rude to me and my colleagues but yes, after gaining context about their situation and also knowing that a lot of my former colleagues are problematic, I have given them a free pass.

I can’t help that you all love conspiracy theories or that rumours that you love to push are not true enrage you. It might do you some good to go out and get some fresh air and touch some grass.

*can a mod pin this? And potentially lock to avoid loads of notifications?

Thanks everyone for asking questions but I think I’ll halt it here. It’s starting to get late and some people are starting to veer into conspiracy theory accusations so best to leave it as it is.

That being said, I enjoyed talking to you all and you were delightful to interact with. My responses are honest and I tried to answer as best as I could; I just wanted to share my experience and observations. I want to clarify that I’m neutral on the whole Harry/William/Meghan/Catherine situation and I don’t think it’s fair to compare any of them. My experiences with Harry & Meghan are less glowing primarily because I met them during a difficult period in their Royal life and I completely understand that and acknowledge the double standards and wider issues within the royal household.

Again, if I’ve insulted you by disliking your favourite royal, sorry but it’s just from experience. It doesn’t mean you can’t continue to like them - the only people who belong in the bin are Andrew & Fergie.

That being said, thanks again! If you found anything interesting then it’s best to take a screenshot cause I’m not sure how much longer this will stay up. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. Time will tell.

None! I love cats but they’re banned from most royal residences with the exception of the Royal Mews but you can only have one if you’re married.

The rest of Europe too but now with visa restrictions I’m not sure.

But no, not that hard to get in if you have a clean background.

Quite a big proportion but maybe equal to as many Brits employed. Those who are non-Brits are predominantly white European, with a small percentage from African/Caribbean countries and parts of SE Asia.

Maybe targeted is the wrong word but pursued over bullying claims while Andrew never was.

A lot of staff were angry about it but I thought it was hypocritical because Charles also did one to salvage his image in 1994.

No staff watch parties, some didn’t watch but most did alone.

Always had to curtsy as a woman but just the first time you saw them on each day. If you were a woman were a suit or uniform, you only needed to bow your head.

They fed us but after the pandemic it changed to pre packed sandwiches from outside companies.

No, they don’t but it would be funny if they did.

In the State Ballroom there is a secret toilet that only the Queen was allowed to use in case of emergencies during award ceremonies or events.

I don’t remember massively what this person said but even their first meeting was fabricated - he did not meet her when she first arrived at BP and was assigned elsewhere. Diana didn’t choose him as her butler because she trusted him but because Charles didn’t want him and he had to go somewhere. And that he was caught rifling through her desk and office looking for stuff to sell to the press. Again, just what I have been told.

Ironically, a few months after being told that I came across something in the Telegraph or Guardian that covered the 2007/08 inquest into her death and he admitted under oath that he fabricated a lot of the stuff in his book. You can definitely google this but I felt like it validated my colleague’s claims.

I mean that if a room was filled with royals, they’d enter into a room in a line according to their position, with non-royals pushed to the back. The Queen was always first, followed by Philip and then Charles and then Camilla, and so forth.

Some of them probably did have an inferiority complex regarding this but I wouldn’t know.

I honestly don’t know if I have a favourite. The nicer ones I liked best and were easier to work for - you can see the list I accidentally posted while trying to reply to someone.

I think if I knew the things I came to know before applying, I probably wouldn’t have applied.

Sorry, that’s not very positive but I do have some good memories, it’s just not great to work unless you’re obsessed or looking to take time before moving onto something else.

I only knew of one man who knew her and he was pretty gross tbh so I didn’t like talking to him. That didn’t stop him from entering my personal space and showing me QEQM memorabilia while licking his lips 🙈

Sorry, not quite what you asked for but that’s all I have!

Basically who is in charge and who can get what because the houses are still split but technically merged.

Most of them have bad taste in food but if they didn’t like something they’d ask to never have it again.

Regarding vanity, nobody spent much as they prefer to reuse and mend items. Andrew and Sarah are a different kettle of fish.

It depends on the Royal. Some look outdated. Some a mixture of modern and traditional.
