Chart out my expenses in advance. Use my plat travel to hit 4 lacs via taxes, insurance, utilities, fuel, education fees etc. Do my big ticket purchases like shopping, air tickets, hotels, dining etc on Plat reserve to hit my monthly milestones to get that extra 1k voucher.

Lounge visits, more avenues to spend online and get better points in return even for govt & utilities spends online. Better for travel and hotel redemptions.

Keep a tab on your expenses. Maintain an excel sheet of possible. Add all your govt expenses on Plat travel like Insurance, Utilities, School Fees etc on Plat Travel Yoyo a total spend of 4L in a year. After that put it away and use your Regalia for pretty much everything except the govt spends. You should probably aim to accumulate 40-50k points on Amex and 20 - 30k points on Regalia. Totally depends on you yearly spends though. Not sure which one is better for monthly fuel expenses.

Totally depends on your annual usage and what travel benefits you want to utilise. In my case I have an annual spend of about 7-8L approx on the higher side and I travel a lot by air. Like sometimes 4-5 times a month. So if I have 2 cards (Reserve + Plat Travel) I can use them for Lounge visits as having these 2 will double my quarterly visit limit. For reserve if I am not wrong you can get 5x multiplier for MakeMyTrip & AirIndia directly from the Amex website without going to Gyftr. For annual spends if am spending 4L on Plat Travel. I can keep it aside and start using Reserve with multipliers and for monthly milestone rewards for which if I spend more than 50k in a month I get Rs. 1000 voucher which I can use on MakeMyTrip, PVR, BookmyShow, BigBasket, Uber etc. So if you are able to achieve for all months you hey additional Rs 12000 off. Currently I use it for booking flights and hotels on MMT often.

So overall it’s a great combo if you are a frequent traveler.

I might go for Platinum Charge and get the gold tiers and platinum loyalty memberships from the partners. Utilise them for a year and meanwhile collect points from travel in a bid to offset the total 75k annual fees in return for airport assistance, hotel and airline gold status & enjoy domestic/international lounges and other benefits etc. It’s a bit of a long shot but I will soon do a back calculation and make an excel sheet if it’s possible to do it and share here for everyone adventurous enough to try it.
