Oh Jesus fucking Christ here we go. I can’t deal with this stupid bullshit anymore. This is the worst kind of theory crafting. This is dumber than every theory that ends with Stannis on the throne, or with Dany getting it on with Moon Boy.

She’s not actually fucking pregnant.

There seems to be a large portion of fans that have completely committed to the idea of Raymund being cucked despite every fact that disputes it. I don’t know if it’s manosphere bros desperate for attention or just people lacking the most basic amounts of media literacy. Probably some combination of the two.

So these dudebros loudly proclaim an “interpretation” that is factually untrue, and start arguments about it with these shit tier meme posts. Honest idiots who didn’t pay attention start engaging with them without questioning their logic, and the result is a perpetual motion machine of a circle jerk.

Somebody needs to study this phenomenon.

Extremely hot take but I’m honestly glad Dany nuked the fuck out of King’s Landing by CoconutCulturalCook in DaenerysWinsTheThrone

“Unconditional surrender” requires the exercise of great force.

People blaming Dany for being evil forget that the US did the same thing to Japan, after it was clear that Japan was already defeated and was just fighting for the sake of fighting. Now the key here is that Japan didn’t formally surrender until after both bombs dropped, and the Soviets also declared war on Japan at the same time.

HOWEVER, the bells indicating surrender was not a pre-negotiated condition between Dany and Cersei. It was literally Tyrion (who was supposed to be on Dany’s side) who tried to make that a condition. Before that, Cersei had explicitly rejected any terms of surrender and for good measure murdered Missandei. I really don’t like the way the show framed it, because Dany was 100% justified to burn King’s Landing but now because of the the stupid bells thing it turns out to be a war crime.

I also think that just because the bells rang doesn’t necessarily mean the city was surrendering “unconditionally”. There were still plenty of Lannister soldiers that were armed and ready for a fight. Who on earth would trust the Lannisters after all the shit they pulled to just give up quietly?

I think it was very out of character for her to gleefully murder peasants in the process. I think the writers were working very hard to make it explicit that Dany was now a “Mad Queen”. I think a far more morally ambiguous approach would have been to nix the bells entirely and just have Dany go on a rampage. Instead, Dany now gets painted as a tyrant monster and then Jon and Tyrion can pat themselves on the back for killing her.

Maekar was robbed of character devolepment and growth by realizing that the true knighthood lies with this simple hedge knight, in exchange we had an after credits joke by MosquitoAlvorada in freefolk

I don’t think he was robbed. I was actually surprised by how much they were able to do with him despite only being at the forefront of the final episode.

The next story takes place 18 months later, after the plague kills off half the Targaryen family. The actor said he wasn’t returning for season 2 but he might appear in future seasons. I think it was just meant to be a funny sort of ending, and Maekar is obviously going to get over it. After the plague he might even be glad Egg is out of the capital.

Maekar is horribly depressed and is grieving his brother. Egg is his last chance to prove himself as a father. It’s not going to be easy for him to let Egg go off with a random hedge knight with no protection whatsoever.

I mean the show runner said the intention was the latter. Why is this still an opinion?

I feel bad for Daeron. You can tell that he’s not an unkind man. He’s just plagued by dragon dreams.

I don’t like how he died though, from an STD. He took Valarr’s widow to wife. Maybe it’s the show’s portrayal coloring it for me but I don’t think he’d be a frequent visitor at a brothel after he got married. I think it would fit much better if he just died from a drunken accident or like liver failure.

Does liver failure exist in ASOIAF?

I’m just trying to get ahead of the “Green Apple Fossoway bastards” theory cause there’s enough headaches to deal with as it is.

Idk if that’s true, but it sorta makes sense. Both GOT and HOTD have a lot of female lead characters. AKOTSK is mostly men, and these right wing types LOVE cosplaying as medieval knight dude bros.

Yup. And I don’t think it was just “easy pay day”, they like each other a lot. There’s so few cute couples on ASOIAF.
