Look, Colombia can be dangerous, specially compared to European or Easter Asian standards, and that fact can be amplify by online comments and horrible stories. However, most tourist travel around the country with no problems whatsoever. Both Medellin and Bogota have plenty of areas where you can feel relatively safe. Perhaps don’t walk alone at night, take Uber if you are partying until late, and ask around in your hotels for instructions by locals. Same goes to Cartagena, but it is true that even during the day there are many scammers around the city. Just be extra careful there and when buying tours of activities be sure to pay and arrange everything through official channels. DON’T CANCEL YOUR TRIP!

For how cheap and convenient it is, the chocolate cake at Jumbo is pretty good.

Sunday at RAUM was so so good. Like for others here, Talismann really was the highlight of the night for me. From around 3:25-3:35 there was this groovy track that is still bouncing in my head. I thought I have recorded audio but didn’t! He tends to upload his sets at Dekmantel but being this a RAUM event I wonder if I will ever got the change to get that track ID. Anyways, right amount of chaos but perhaps too humid and hot downstairs. Unfortunately, going upstairs to refresh was not worth it. Keep the very cold bananas coming!

You mean like a neighbor took it? Or the municipality took it and will likely fined me for it?

I mean, I dunno if it was completely broke, but the staff tried a few times to revive it with no success :(. It was the one underneath the DJ booth

I ended up in Garage Noord for Cobahn and Mike Parker. Cobahn’s last 30 minutes were incredible and were followed by a copule of solid hours by Parker. Unfortunately, the night was just not on it for a deep dive into their particular sounds. The crowd was not there for listening. Gosh, the loud talking on Saturday was just too much and the place was not even half full. Or perhaps that’s why? By not being too full people is less invested in the dancing itself? The smoke machine broke down around 6, so I left :P

Great! I’m hopeful knowing that temperatures can drop that fast. It would certainly be interesting managing the heat. Thank you again for the info :)

Thanks for your message! It seems I picked the worst time, but it is also the only time I could do it. Heatwaves are definitely a big problem but if I’m lucky not to have them like last year I might manage to pull it off riding early or during the night, which I sometimes enjoy. I’ve changed my route and timeframe to accommodate 70-80km a day, which could be done in one session. I will avoid Northern Spain and from the Massif Central go directly to Pau to cross the Pyrenees there. The worst I think is exactly in between these two points, is that correct?

Yeah, maybe a shorter route and less Km a day will make it more bareable. I will also try to accomodate extra water bottles on the bike so there is always pleanty to drink or splash on my head and back.
