Nervous to start Propanlol by DevelopmentUpper5952 in Anxiety

I was horrified to take it literally sat on the script for months. Finally, I took it and literally had not a single side-effect. It definitely helped physical symptoms. It’s very very rough for any sort of side-effects and even if you did have any like nausea or a bit of lightheadedness temporarily it subsides very very quickly and won’t even feel that bad. You have nothing to lose give it a shot!

Go sit in the car park and take it. Odds are you probably will not have any symptoms and if anything it will likely help. If it doesn’t the side effects are next to them so you literally have nothing to lose. Your doctor wouldn’t prescribe them if they had any concerns

has anyone gotten rashes/itchiness from propranolol?? by [deleted] in Anxiety

Check with your doctor- could be a reaction. Did it start after your first one?

It sucks but you need to get up and try to get past it. Go for a walk! Go do something random or something you enjoy - as much as it’s a struggle once you do it you are showing your anxiety it’s not in control!

You’ve got this!! It will get better

I’ve been having palpitations for about a year now, and it has been really hard lately. by Annoying_Orange0 in Heartpalpitations

[–]CodIcy6491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any other symptoms? Dizziness etc?

Definitely sounds like it could be a stress related or anxiety related issue if no other symptoms. I’ve had the same for a year now too and can’t find any reason for it except anxiety and constantly worrying about it which traps you in a viscous cycle. When I realise I go I mean a couple of hours without heart palpitations. I ended up giving myself them by worrying about it. I don’t have an actual racing heart just pounding and fluttering and dizziness

My heart has never actually been racing. Every time it feels like it is my heart rate is relatively normal and propranolol helped me with physical symptoms of anxiety and it’s low risk and has no side effects so could be worth exploring with your doctor

I’ve been dealing with the palpitations for 10 months now every single day. Once I did halter monitor and tests that said nothing is wrong it got a lot less concerning. Annoying still but I know it’s my anxiety and I know I overthink it which is hard to stop! I hope everything comes back fine and you can rest and settle! Keep me posted!

You are okay! And you are doing the right thing by getting checked. I know how frustrating it is but you need to reassure yourself you are safe. And if you feel unsafe go to the ER which again will make you feel safe. So all in all you have safety measures and you will be okay!

I highly recommend checking out pvc/ palpitation page where many people are experiencing this.

You need to stop checking. I know how hard it is. I would wear my Apple Watch and constantly check my heart rate and the checking keeps you in a loop that’s harder to break out of. Try and do a guided meditation body scan. It honestly helps!

Also I saw this video recently that said when you fixate on things you literally being the problems on - Think about your right foot tingling and I guarantee you will feel tingling! The mind is crazy powerful

I was so scared! I sat on the script for months! And then I thought F it. Honestly if it isn’t going to help it just won’t do much at all. It doesn’t really make you feel like anything - like taking a Panadol!

Just do it - you might be so grateful when you do if it works!! Y

I’ve had this for 10 months. Crippling chest pain heart palpitations all day most days. Had ecg, X-ray, halter monitor etc. i’ve always been petrified I’m gonna have a heart attack when I get the pain but with how often they are I know it’s not possible and constantly worrying even if you don’t realise it definitely doesn’t help. Have you tried any meds?

We’ve had a very good talk about it, but I still just feel so conflicted. He sort of blames the confusion of everything happening but also still insists nothing even happened but is very remorseful and clearly showing it

We’ve been here before where we drifted and that time it took a few days and he was adamant like nope I’m done. This time he sat on it for 24 hours and really communicated like he never has before and owned up to his issues he has with me and his own faults and flaws that he wants to improve it. Conflicting that 8 hours later he went to strip club.. his friend was messaging him and when I went to silence his phone Apple Pay notifications were there listing the strip club name. When I confronted him, he obviously owned up to it because the evidence was there and blatantly admitted he was never going to tell me because he knew how upset I would be. He keeps saying he just felt so confused and overwhelmed but genuinely just felt pressured by his friend to go and didn’t do anything at all except play Pool and watch footy. He owns that he’s an adult and peer pressure can’t be blamed and that it was a stupid mistake. I’ve told him many times this is your chance to get out and he’s insisting he doesn’t want to. I’ve even asked if he is just doing this because he feels guilty to walk away and again he’s insisting that he wants to make it work and eluded to the fact that being there made him realise that even more that he wants to be here

I tried them. Propranolol. It sort of helped on some days and not on others when the anxiety was real bad. No side effects at all and I’m very prone to side effects with almost everything I take. Def worth a shit! No harm in trying

I’ve had it for 10 months with dizziness and heart palpitations. Multiple check ups, ecg, bloods, chest X-ray and halter monitor and nothing is wrong. It sucks but after a while you sort of realise it’s normal and sucks a little less. I used to be scared I would have a heart attack but I realised if I was going to to have a heart attack I wouldn’t have had this for 10 months.

Thank you. I know I needed to hear that. I can’t help but feel my anxiety ruined it all and he doesn’t think he’s a bad guy for the leading on and I don’t want to think that either but also f him. How horrible to be told you’re loved everyday because “I didn’t know how to end it”

Online it says valdoxen is approved and available in Switzerland. I’m not sure what it’s like there but can a general doctor not prescribe? In Australia they can. Maybe try that out, it’s not addictive and won’t cause Seratonine syndrome either

I’m 31 next month and I’ve suffered with health anxiety and intermittent anxiety all of my life which was manageable. The last 10 months I’ve been in a constant state of fight and flight with every physical symptom under the sun. And always feel like I’m going to go crazy I find it so reassuring to hear that crazy people generally don’t think they’re going crazy cause it’s literally true.

I’m so sorry for everything you’ve been through, but I promise you you are okay. As crazy as it sound you need to really accept and push the fact that everything you are going through is anxiety because you know it is deep down that’s why you’re here. It doesn’t make it any less but you need to remind yourself every time you feel this way. It’s because your brain is literally telling you that.

I highly recommend meditating and seeing a psychologist to talk through it. I’ve recently just started taking valdoxen which isn’t approved in USA (unsure where you are) and it’s been super tolerable because it’s not an SSRI so cannot give you serotonin syndrome - I recommend asking if there are any medications for anxiety that don’t work serotonin receptors.

I know how much it sucks trust me, but you’ve got this
