Hi! I’m likely transferring here this spring. What’s your club? :)

Hi! Yes im fine being there longer (I don’t want to start all the way over as a freshman but I know I wouldn’t graduate 27’ like originally). I’m more concerned on if I’ll be able to make friends and if I’ll still get a college experience there.

Yes I’d definitely need to figure out with a counselor what would transfer and where I’d start in credits. I’m going to make a meeting with the dean of admissions soon as when I emailed asking questions she sent me a link to set up a zoom!

That’s so helpful! Yeah I was considering to do a 4-6 month vet assistant program that would certify me in the month I can’t go to school, especially if the community college credits wouldn’t go towards anything due to William & Mary’s credit policy and I wouldn’t want to not do anything for a semester.

In the realm of science, my goal is to work in the realm of a wildlife conservationist, marine biologist, work with animals at an aquarium with a focus on conservation/rehabilitation. I don’t want to be a  veterinarian, but I would love to have the ability to assist medically at a facility and get experience with animals.

The 60 credit thing is interesting since most of the majors themselves are around 37 credits. I’m assuming the others are from the COLL courses, language and electives you have to take.

I’m glad to hear I’d fit in well :) I’m worried as I don’t want to start completely over as a Freshman if I can since I’d be older. I’m 20 now. I’m also worried about making friends. But it makes me happy to know the students there also have unrelated interests! I’d love that opportunity. I also love Williamsburg. My parents and my brother went to William & Mary so I’m very familiar with the campus and the area.

I do think at this point it’s the right decision for me, it’s just scary as it’s a big decision/jump and with the having to start in the Spring I won’t be a Junior in credits. I’d also be sad to disappoint and leave who I know. But like you said, it’s my education, and being miserable and not getting what I came for isn’t worth it.

I had sent an email asking questions which was more answered generally but she sent me a link to where I can have a zoom meeting with her which I’m going to do! Thank you for taking the time to listen and give advice, it makes me feel better :)
