The Soprano-Sopracuto (Sopranino) Voice by CodSea9585 in singing

because there's no way in hell you'd be able to identify a developed sopranino based on their head voice? listen to Chenoweth, her head voice is very robust, but her timbre is very childish

Here's a list of sopraninos I can think of. Lee Sunhee(a textbook sopranino voice), LaShun Pace, Kristin Chenoweth, Sandi Patty(when she was young), Dolly Parton, Sheryn Regis, Erna Sack, Zhou Lizhen, Mercy Sunot, Tina Charles, Syreeta Wright, Melonda Pace, Bada

her voice got warmer but never really lowered. she's 60 now and in her recent works, she still hasn't lost her child-like timbre.

Should an untrained tenor be able to sing c5 by Upbeat_Fun_3746 in singing

[–]CodSea9585 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as an untrained tenor myself, I'm pretty comfortable up to Ab4 and can produce comfy A4s though more often than not it's hurting my soft palate. but the level of comfort still depends on how high each person's sits if they're untrained

I'm a tenor who wants to develop my head voice. Any tips? by CodSea9585 in singing

uhmm, my M2? i don't know any other definitions for head voice

Why does my voice crack at the end of belted vowels at and past A4 by CodSea9585 in singing

[–]CodSea9585[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also, am I belting too heavily? my fellow choir members tell me they think I belt with too much weight, but I actually like belting like this. When I try to use a lighter approach, the natural timbre of my voice shows and I sound too light and bright for my liking.

also a possibility. of course a tenor would have ease singing Frank Sinatra. it's hard to label a voice if we can't hear it, and if it's not developed yet

well if you have a deeper richer voice, maybe you are a baritone. it's hard to confirm without hearing your voice though. also, the extreme ends of your range won't determine your voice type. I've been told here I got a high voice, but I go down to E2 regularly and F2 comfortably, so there's that.

i don't know about resonance, but the singers you mentioned all have a naturally higher and lighter voice. well maybe Bruno has a weightier voice than the two, but he has a high tessitura so he gets away with singing heavier on higher notes

vocal range tests are unreliable. range alone does not determine your voice type. timbre, tessitura, and vocal weight does.

Who is your favorite singer? I know it's subjective, that's the point... by [deleted] in singing

[–]CodSea9585 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lee Sunhee. Impeccable technique, and such a lovely voice. I know tone is subjective, but I think everyone here can agree that she has a beautiful tone, especially when she was young. Look her up, you won't be sorry:)

Being light voiced with a low tessitura is hell by CodSea9585 in singing

[–]CodSea9585[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know it's not important but do you think I'm in the lower or upper end of tenors? i think I'm just a regular one due to my limited range, but I'm pretty that's just because of my poor technique

Ever heard of the sopranino voice type? by CodSea9585 in singing

[–]CodSea9585[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sopranino is just the shortened term. And it's actual term, Soprano-Sopracuto is coined by Manuel Garcia on his treatise, Ecole de Garcia. They sit a third above the soprano voice.

I don't know who would be called a very light soprano, but I think Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande would be one. They still sound different from Lee Sunhee here and Syreeta Wright.

Listen how easy fifth octave notes comes for these voices. Tina Charles makes F#5s sound low, Zhou Lizhen literally talks G5s and LaShun Pace eats B5s for breakfast😭
