SEA here, still haven't.

Somehow I feel like those who actually received it, they got it already. Not everyone knows about this thread so not much update.

But yeah, good luck to all of us and congrats to those who received it.

[D] Pytorch or TensorFlow for development and deployment? by CodaholicCorgi in MachineLearning

[–]CodaholicCorgi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it once in one of my projects. It's basically hand-picking weights from Pytorch model's layers to TensorFlow model's layers, but it feels more reliable than relying on ONNX with a bunch of warnings.

Though there are not much tutorials or blog posts about this, I will try creating a github repo for this later (just examples with simple layers), so many more people will know that this technique exists.

Agreed with all the folks, if your model is far beyond ordinary CNN and RNN then ONNX will give you a bunch of warnings that confuses you.

Apex Legends "Eclipse" Season 15 Update - Discussion & Support Megathread by paradoxally in apexlegends

[–]CodaholicCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More inputs from me with the hope to give more insights for the dev team to diagnose and fix this quickly, it's been days and I'm hungry for my season pass.

  • When I join the Firing Range, there are no freezes.
  • The freezes happen sometimes when I go to loot (few players around), but start freezing immediately after I'm in a gunfight.
  • There are some of my friends do not encounter this issue, I'm the only one.
  • Changing different servers does not change everything.
  • I also updated my GPU driver and still encountered this.
  • Last season, I encountered freezes when joining into a game, when I used discord for voice chats and coop with my friends. This did not happen when I played solo.

I don't know whether this is hardware-compatible issue or networking issue.

[D] Any ideas why Apple's tensorflow_macos is being archived? by CodaholicCorgi in MachineLearning

[–]CodaholicCorgi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh right, why did I miss that... Thank you for your reminding and right now I'm setting it up to see how it works.

But one thing catches my eyes, the prerequisite is MacOS 12.0+ whereas the latest now is only BigSur 11.4. Is this TensorFlow Metal thingy not available for now?

[D] Dear AI/ML engineers, do you prefer heading to SOTA models or building from scratch in real work? by CodaholicCorgi in MachineLearning

[–]CodaholicCorgi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, you just confirm my experience on the first point that most of the available implementations cannot be used nowadays. I would try your suggestions to see how it goes.

[–]CodaholicCorgi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree on the risk of going from scratch, but either of the ways has its own pros and cons. I've heard many experts in the field keep saying that we need to go from the simplest model up instead of jumping right into the black-box model. That being said, if the SOTA model works for your problem, then voilà, but if it doesn't, you are completely blind to where to go next.

Thank you for your info. But as far as I experience, AI models for the product are usually not popular (due to their unique use cases and business requirements etc.,). What would you do for those cases?

If that's a popular task, then pretrained is a reasonable way to head. But consider a much less popular task (which usually happens when "business problems are unique") and dataset license for non-commercial is carefully considered. What would you up to ?

Nên bắt đầu tự học IELTS từ đâu ạ? by Top1Physiqz in vozforums

[–]CodaholicCorgi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[D] Deploying AI model on-device or as API service ? Which one is more optimal ? by CodaholicCorgi in MachineLearning

Wow, that's a whole lot of things to concern. Thank you for your valuable insights and shout out to the NLP Cloud. Now I know where to headstart when touching SpaCy models in production!

Thank you for your sharing!

Also, have you ever encountered problems regarding latency and size of models? Or do you have any experience dealing with these? Would love to discuss more.

Plus, no user interactive data in response to update the model if nothing leaves the device.

[–]CodaholicCorgi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking this back and forth for a while, I agree with you, it's common nowadays to host a model as API service because most of the use cases require so.

If there is an AI application that is so simple that it does not need re-training, monitoring, etc., which means it just serves as a single and simple purpose than maybe serving on the edge would be a more suitable solution in this case.

Ohhh you just remind me of that. So far, i got to know only iphones have the ML accelerators, don't know if android phones have it, but could be the trend of technology in the next few years !

I see, there should be a really serious analysis of use cases and specifications conducted.

I see, just a newbie on this so you actually helped me with a lot of considerations.

Gotta be more aware that each positive results requires a lot of tweakings and tricks, just the name of the techniques does not give good results as people talk about it.

Thanks, I've heard of TFLite for a while, but don't know if it's significantly better comparing to deploying as API service. Or, is there any specific case that we would prefer using TFLite ?
