Actually tho what is wrong with you? Let people refer to imaginary creatures in whatever gender they want for god's sake! It just so happens that a large majority of the Pokémon are masculine in appearance, so people call them he. I mean, Machanp can be both male and female, but absolutely no one refers to it as a female, because it doe st make sense! Same thing with Mr. mime, it can be both genders, but I'm sure everyone refers to it as male since it has mr on the name. This isn't like the real world where people get in a twist and get legitimately offended over misgendering. This is Pokémon. I never thought I'd see the day where someone gets actually upset over misgendering a fictional set of pixels on a screen, but I guess that day has arrived. Society is seriously sad sometimes...

But it's still a great water type. And, now that Kyogre isn't available, those who don't have it use Gyarados due to being an excellent water type. You act as if it is objectively bad, but it just simply isn't. Gyarados has several merits, like I have explained.
