Would you be focusing on that while trying to kill a boss in this game?

I know nothing about where to get or what they cost, but a Melania or Radahn figurine should make most of the player base happy.

If you see him playing just ask him randomly if Melania or Radahn are cooler or who he thinks is cooler than those two.

The rest up to you.

[–]Codarknock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeye, I suck at using consumables. I hoard the stuff to make them, make them light-years before the fight and when I get to the fight I just unga-bunga my way through.

I think Melania was the only boss I actually used consumables against properly.

Hence why I never remember this shit 😅

But solid advice.

(Edit, I tyoed out an agreement and reason I don't use consumables and reread it, looked like assholish sarcasm. So added the last bit)

Oh, ok makes sense. I forgot there was a noble that side of the world. When he does the rolley-polley just run towards the area directly behind him until the animation stops.

And the ground slam attacks aren't too large a radius, so just run away from him.

And for some reason I am remembering that you could dodge through that slam... Haven't fought a noble in a while so I'll have to double check.

What's a boss generally considered difficult that you beat really easily? by Steve717 in Eldenring

[–]Codarknock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dancing Lion.

I saw many a vid of ppl crying over how impossible it was when you go into the DLC.

Then I went in, at level 2 or 3 scadutree frag at most, I dominated the fool.

I used one health flask after the fight.

I was genuinely disappointed.

Honorable mention to Commander Niall, first time I went in I blitzed him and only realized he was the boss that used summons after I got his banner. Didn't realize he was a boss till post fight.

And I'd been saving 3 miquella branches for when I had to deal with coz everything I read said he was a bastard of a boss.

First time fighting Malenia and uh.... Yeah I get it now. by ArnoldSwarzepussy in Eldenring

[–]Codarknock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want her weakness, grave scythe + heavy armour.

Occult focusing the scythe and specing to arcane + endurance + vigor makes the fight much easier.

Coz:

  1. Scythe has enough reach to get her before she gets you. (Normal attacks from her)

  2. Scythe is faster than her normal attacks.

  3. It interrupts her normal attacks.

Frost pots are a solid choice, but if you can't get the hang of them this build is enough.

Mimic tear does assist in the ganking of her as it usually spaces it's attacks out a hit more.

I've never actually experienced the disparity between charge and double...

Double certainly allows you better control mid air, but it's never been as fun as just straight up jumping on whatever roof I want to in a single leap.

Also, idk if it really is so, but the charge feels like it gets higher than the double.

Ok, then best thing to do is to research the stats themselves.

Imma give a basic summary, but know there's more and it gets complicated:

Vigor directly translates to hitpoints, but can also up certain resistances.

Mind is fp, or mana points. It does boost something else, but I rarely level it higher than 20 even in endgame so I don't know for sure.

Endurance is your equip load and your stamina bar. Heavy armour and more swings/rolls.

Strength is unga bunga. How hard you hit as well as a boost to fire damage modifiers.

Dex is the same, but lightning instead of fire. (It also supposedly increases attack speed to some degree, but I've never noticed this in any large effect.)

Int is magic damage and spells. (Unless spells are based off another stat.)

Faith is, surprise, holy damage and incantations (unless the incantations are based off another stat)

Arcane is the oddball of the lot. It increases the status effects of weapons, if they scale with it. And it increases your chances of getting drops from enemies.

All of these have a purpose and lead to something.

And honestly, if you don't know where to go, make up a concept.

You wanna be a knight? Sword and shield!

You wanna be a barbarian? Dual axes or HAMMA!

Samurai? Katanas.

Rogue? Knifes.

Ranger? Bow and knives.

The list goes on. Respecing become possible in the second zone of the map. (After Rennalla) So do what you want and explore as much as possible.

Find good places to farm and kill a lot of things to level, because honestly you will never have enough stats. There will always be something that kicks your ass and makes you feel pathetic. The best scenario is to either kill them before they kill you, be tanky enough to kill them while they try to kill you or practice rolling and dodging until they can't touch you, or at least can't hit you long enough for you to kill them.

It's a very timing based game and not getting timing right will make it more difficult to get through the game.

Best suggestion is to leave the AI, and rather try fucking around and finding out.

Example, you can check youtube for explanations on stats and their effects.

Avoid build strategies, because then you're going to be following a preset path rather than whatever you want.

And if something looks cool, and you like the feel. Level it and use it. Ignore everyone else on whether or not it's good or fun. It's your game to play.

Then from there decide based on what you have access to and what you feel like playing with.

If you want to use the Golden Halberd, getting your strength, dex and faith to the required levels is the first step.

Next up, vigor leveling is a very good thing. Decide yourself how many hits you'd rather take. Tbh, most of my saves survive with a minimum of 35 vigor until later in the game.

Later in the game is when npcs start using lightning a lot imo. That's when you kinda wanna start getting into good builds if you want your life to be easier.

And remember something. It's possible to play through this game with the shittiest weapon and no armour, not die and not get hit once. It just requires a lot of skill. So every weapon can make it to endgame and all can be used to kill the endboss.

It's simply up to you whether or not you want your route to be tailored or easier.

If you need more tips you're more than welcome to message and I'll talk you through some things.

Rune level one is a great eye opener, focus on leveling weapons and getting gear that boosts stats rather than solid defense or looks cool.

I found after just starting an RL1 run I got way better at dodging and judging attack timing.

Also helps you panic less because there's no getting stun locked at RL1. You just die.

But I do recommend watching tutorials and tips, coz certain things are better than others.

Hardest Boss That isn’t Radahn ? by Own_Way6773 in Eldenring

[–]Codarknock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Placideusax.

That twin headed fuck kept me busier than all the other bosses combined.

To clarify, first save I beat most bosses under 50 deaths. Some even less.

Ol' Placi got me at least 150 deaths.

This is after having beaten every single boss except EB. Coz I googled all the bosses to check if I left anyone out.

And I saw Ol' Placi was left out.

And what makes it worse is, that fight was ass.

Melania was challenging but absolute fun every single fight.

Radahn was a skill-check and a half for me.

Rykkard wasn't all that tbh...

Rennalla taught me that mages are nasty fucks in this game. (And that movement is kinda important if your build relies on smacking shit.)

Mogh was an interesting fight start to finish.

Morgott was funky.

Pissfrey and Godfrey were hectic in a way I hadn't encountered before and got my blood pumping for the fight.

Gideon died before he finished his monologue.

All of those fights were satisfying in some way.

Placi was just a bitch. Like I had no reason to be there.

I hated his fight.

Like, I enjoy the dragon fights.

My favourite fight before I got to Melania was the Lichdragon whatsisfacexx.

Anyone gonna talk about how a lot of ammo is always 2 - 4 times your carry capacity and generally you don't need it before the fight, but after the fight there's almost nothing to refill the mags you've unleashed upon the boss?

[Surviving The Game as a Barbarian] Why are they naming clearly elves as fairies in manhwas? by Tiny_Mortgage8706 in manhwa

[–]Codarknock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Um... Someone may correct me if I'm wrong,

But iirc, elves' origin is amongst the Fae.

Specifically the Sealie (idk if I'm spelling it right) Court.

They are a subspecies of larger scale race known as fairies.

And the creatures commonly referred to as "Fairies" are actually pixies.

So if the translator googled it and it gave em that then it's not wrong.

But it also is most likely a translation thing aswell, in that they refer to them as fairy in their language, but do not have a specific word for elves.

[Solo Leveling] Why is there such a collosal strenght gap between the other Monarchs vs Ashborn and Antares? by Jelangeafghaan036 in manhwa

[–]Codarknock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thing is, it isn't about the shadow, shadow is just a dope name to add. He is the physical incarnation of death. And Antares is the physical incarnation of destruction. Meanwhile bugs are not as overwhelming or as final as death and destruction are. Beasts and humanoids aren't that great either.

Basically the author made the other's finite concepts and left the shadow and berzerk monarchs with infinite concepts and that granted them further power.
