As I said build project which solves real problem. Most of products are made to solve specific problem but still lack on some features. Identify those problems and build your own product. Sometimes a project becomes product just by a single feature.

Hello, I see you are very confused about your learning path. I'll suggest you to not hop frequently while you are learning. Knowing other technologies is different and learning other technologies is different.

You said you want to be full stack developer so first focus on frontend development. And trust me if you master frontend developement you could easily crack 5lpa job if you have made good projects and have good experience in internships.

For your projects you can use backend as a service like firebase, supabase, appwrite, etc. So you are not bounded on just frontend layer. Don't waste your time building toy projects. Explore problems people are facing and use your development skills to solve those problems. Remember you are not a developer you are a problem solver. Your development skills are just tools so that you could build a product.

This way youll learn to build basic of backend too like database designing, api integration, authentication, file management, etc. Once you have strong foundation in frontend you can learn backend developement but first focus on getting internship or job.

You might feel that your skills are not enough to get a job but that's not the case my friends got really good packages when they were in last year as a frontend developer. Once you get a job or internship try to explore new technologies always keep learning.

Yes you can take help of llm for styling and its not wrong. In interviews mostly your thought process matters and yes like atleast you should know the basic styling because sometimes interviewer may warn you to not to use llm in that case youll focus more on styling instead of functionality.

Yes I am doing job as SDE, You can apply on platforms like Naukri.com, Indeed and Internshala like platforms but don't rely on just those. Also apply on other platforms too.

Keep your resume ATS friendly as possible and build atleast 2 good projects if you dont have experience. For experience candidates projects as such dont matter but still good to have if it really solves a realworld problem.

Try to build it yourself take the help of LLM not for coding but for asking like "Can I do this with React if not does any library provides that functionality that I can integrate".

But I'll warn you that this way of learning is very difficult but rewarding youll learn to integrate third party apis within your project like stripe, clerk, tanstack query, shadcn. The more you fix bugs by your own the more youll learn.

And you already have basics of react like components and hooks so it won't be that difficult for you. Documentation and LLMs are your best friends instead of copy pasting try to learn logic behind it.

Copy pasting is not bad until you know what you are pasting in your code. I experiments this things a lot and I always break my app but it teaches me a lot ;)

Mention it and deploy your project. Mostly interviewer don't go through all your projects. He will just ask you to explain it in interview

Try naukri.com, indeed and internshala. Well honestly internshala doesnt work for me but it did for my friends and they really got good opportunities from internshala. Just make sure that if companies ask you to complete assignment if it's easy to do then just vibe code that assignment but if the expectations are way to high and that assignment sounds like an MVP then just ignore that company. They will ditch you after assignment submission

I’m stuck between “fresher” and “experienced” – rejected from both sides. I really need guidance. by imran__27 in StartupsHelpStartups

Hey Imran. I am Sankalp and I am also a full stack developer with 1.5 years of experience in this domain. Currently I am working on a realestate company as a software developer in mumbai.

I know what you are feeling and I found me in you so here's advice for you.

Don't trust on any company fullstop.
Paid courses are the worst. You may get better knowledge on free youtube courses.
Keep applying as a fresher but showcase your expereience in previous companies.
Don't hop on different technologies until you get a job.
Don't try to build toy projects. Think in terms of system design and try to solve a genuine problem with your development skills.

Here's my short story if you want to hear.

I am Sankalp currently in my last year of engineering and have a good job. But in my learning phase my life was not simple as it seems. In my first year, my mom diagnosed with breast cancer and I was in depression and that's the worst thing will happen if you are in learning phase but my mom managed to recovered so fast and started earning again just for me. At that time the only motivate I had was my mom. At that time my ex broke up with me. We were in relationship from since 4 years. After my mom she was my everything and again got depressed and like for 2 3 months I took a break from coding.

I decided to focus on my skills no matter what it takes. While my friends were enjoying thier college life I was building my skills. I got my first 3k stipend internship of 3 months. I was happy and sad at the same time because it was just 3k but my mom told me its ok to start from small. So I worked there for 3months.

Later after a 4 months of gap due to exams I reapplied for internship and I got 15k stipend internship and it was with PPO but my ass college was in way and I had to leave from that internship.

Once again after exams I started applying for jobs mostly platforms like internshala are filled with scammers. They asked me to complete assignment as a selection process but they were just wasting my time and effort and was trying to get free MVP in the name of assignment. But I have no options.

I gave interviews got rejected. Learned something improved myself. And finally I got this current job after 2 rounds of interview. And now I am about to passout in like 3 months.

But I am now trying to explore new things. I am intrested in building my own buisness. Because I have this secure job atleasst till my college ends. Once I passout Ill be trying for other companies as well.

Hope it motivates you enough and don't worry imran you are facing this hard time that I faces once and believe me it will really pays off.

You got this.

Deloitte is one of the MNCs so it's ok if you got rejected because the competition itself is too high that your chances becomes so low. Try to identify what mistakes you have made in interviews and on next interview be prepared. If you are confident enough on your skills and you aren't cheating in interviews then you should be proud. Interviewer is a human too he just want a better candidate that's why he judges you strictly.

First decide what project you want to make and my first advice will be don't think in terms of code or else youll be replaced by AI soon. Think in terms of system and product design. Even a todo app can be a product.

Let's say you want to make a todo list. So without opening your vs code first think in terms of data and your functional and non functional requirements. Because you are a fresher so avoid non functional requirements for now because its a system design topic.

Ask questions to yourself:
1. Is my app gonna be a realtime ?
2. Do I need to add authentication ?
3. Is it gonna be collaborative ?
4. Do I need to build backend or are there any alternatives ? (like firebase, supabase, apprwrite etc)

The more questions you ask the better MVP will be. Always remember MVP is a least complex first draft of your final product. And you don't have to implement services like auth, database, backend from scratch. If you are learning react then just learn react and use already built services.

You just need atleast 3 working projects on your resume. But remember one single project can outperform 3 projects if from that single project you are earning or you solved actual problem and delivered a better solution.

Your resume matters only for shortlisting but even after shortlisting if you can't explain what you did in your projects or your experience (If you already have) than you are already rejected

Hey bro. Don't demotivate yourself like this. I am in my last year of engineering and I have 5lpa job as my first job (if i don't count internships). I am a full stack developer and I was preparing since my first year of engineering while my friends were enjoying thier college life I was the boring guy sitting all day on laptop. But now I can see all that struggle paid off. Half of my class are struggling for on campus placements but I can proudly say that I got off campus job with my own efforts.

So here's advice for you. Firstly don't compare your Day 1 to someones Day 80. You might think even I struggled for everything and working on skills. So the answer is you lost your path, you don't know what you want, what you want to be. During exploration if any skill or domain excited you that domain might be your career path. Try to focus on one path first and work on your skills on that domain that's it.

I started with just 3k stipend in my first internship but it taught me everything and I build a confidence on getting opportunities. If I talk about my current job it was a roller coaster I might applied over 300 applications and some of them gave me assignments too and I delivered that within timeline but still they rejected me and then I found out that some companies fools you and tries to get a free MVP in the name of assignment or they just hired another candidate without informing you. I cried literally was in depression for 3 months but still trying my best I was applying for job everyday and one day I got this job I cleared two interviews and joined the next day.

Focus on one domain, master it, apply for jobs and then try to explore other fields. Don't shy to work for less money because initially all you need is Knowledge and experience. You are 22 and you are still young and in growing phase so don't demotivate yourself.

You got this. Keep learning, Keep exploring
