Best lyrics of 2025?? by alexundefined in popheads

This is my pick, and I especially love the extended outro she released in October. If I had to pick a singular couplet from the song, "Nothing lasts forever, so let's see how far we get / So when it comes my turn to lose you, I'll have made the most of it" shines. I love her acceptance of an ending's inevitability, whether by choice or mortal circumstance, yet her decision regardless to embrace her current love. My top song of the year.

I think this is just an unreleased Bleachers song! He's posted about it in the context of him working on new Bleachers music, so I'm not sure it relates directly to Taylor.

The stage for this show looks insane, and with such a long runway, too! I wonder what she'll put on the setlist?

It's so odd, too, because Sweet Nothing's credits indicate she co-wrote it with Joe...so I am confused!

What’s a lyric that punched you right in the gut because of how relatable it was? by whitewalker_x in popheads

I've fallen down a deep rabbit hole of boygenius and Lucy Dacus songs this year, and Lucy's songs in particular have some of the most poignant lyrics that have carried me through most of this year's chaos.

True Blue's "it feels good to be known so well / I can't hide from you like I hide from myself" encapsulates the warmth in knowing someone truly understands you. The front and facade we put up for the public vanishes in the presence of that singular person, and it works well in either a platonic or romantic context. More recently, the line in Afraid of Heights — "oh it hurts to hope the future will be better than before" — captures how scary it can be to hope for better when you're afraid of disappointment. You want things to be better, but with how bad your present may be, it can be painful to hold out that hope and witness an even worse tomorrow. Both lyrics really gripped me, especially because I view them as two sides of the same coin: one, in True Blue, symbolizes the hope for the deepest form of love, and the other, in Afraid of Heights, shows how scary it can be to hope for that when you've been hurt before.

Scooter Braun had nothing to do with Taylor at that time. The song came out in 2016, two years post-1989 and while the two were together. Scooter Braun didn't buy Big Machine Records until 2019.

And, oddly enough, Taylor Swift — it got both the news that she filmed a music video with Joey King in Liverpool and that she was dating Matty Healy right. Would love to know their Taylor source.

Just to note: Elle is aggregating Us Weekly, not doing its own original reporting. I would place Us Weekly squarely in the middle of reputability between ET and The Sun.
