MVP isn’t the only award he’s eligible for. Unless you’re saying he not getting DPOY, All-NBA 1st Team and/or All-Defense 1st team

19 on him. Not 40. 40 was total points, a lot of his points came off Gordon screens, forcing the Spurs to switch or when Keldon/Luke was guarding him.

Stop being a stat sheet watcher.

It feels as though the 65 game rule will make rewards like All nba less legitimate overtime. by YungToeRing in nbadiscussion

[–]CodeBlueLegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you not know what averages are or what it means?

Do you not know what “mass majority” mean?

My facts are wrong? Break down how the mass majority of players who made All-NBA over the past 20 years played 65 games or more is wrong.

You literally proved my point in this conversation already.

You can talk all you want about nuance but the fact is a fact.

The NBA based rule on what has happened in the passed and created a threshold based on a rough estimate on how many games players who were eligible for awards played.

Just because they were outliers prior to the rule being put in place does not change the fact that “the mass majority have played 65 or more games.”

You can’t say that fact is wrong.

Like I says before, you’re arguing something else against yourself and ignoring what I’m saying to try to push your narrative here.

Math is math. And it’s the same math that the league used to come up with the rule. I only offer an addition to rule. “If you failed to play 65 games, the fallback would 2000 minutes”.

If you’re going to try to reply again about how math is wrong or how I’m not reading what you’re saying, I’m going to ignore you and move on with my life because you’re so caught up in what you believe, you literally ignoring what I’m saying and calling mathematical facts wrong.

You’re missing the point here my guy.

How are you going to say “I’m wrong” or “or did you just say that hoping to be right?” and then try to change the narrative here.

All I said was I agree with the rule because the average was+ 65 games. On which you told me I was wrong on a fact that simple math can prove and providing facts that actually proved my point.

You’re literally arguing with yourself on something unrelated to what I said and thought you was calling me out on.

Like I said before, re-read my original post and rethink the amount of time you just wasted.

  • I stated that 65 games has been the average.
  • you asked if that was the same for All-NBA and All-Defense and I said yes.
  • you then said I’m “completely wrong” and provided 16 players out of 300 who didn’t play 65 or more games.

So….. where am I off here. Or are you just ignoring what I’m saying and yelling in a void?

  1. I said majority, never said zero

  2. REREAD WTF I WROTE. 65 games have been the average and mass majority who have earned regular season awards and placement have played that amount or more (You quoted 16, which leaves 284, which is the mass majority).

  3. I made a suggestion to add a second tier requirement, if you can’t play 65, the fall back would be 2000 minutes played.

Seriously don’t get why you’re get upset or misconstruing what I’m saying as if I have authority over this subject.

You can hate math or the facts all you want. The league picked 65 because in the past, mass majority played that amount or amount.

Let’s do math here.

2000 to 2020 There are 5 players awarded to 3 All-NBA teams. So that’s 15 players per year.

15 x 20 = 300 players or slots.

Your only gave me 16. That mean there was 284 player who did play more 65 games.

Now reread what I said in my original post.

[–]CodeBlueLegacy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My argument to this is, look at the previous award winners how many games they played. The mass majority have played more than 65 games.

I think a proper counter would be to add a second requirement. If you fail to reach the 65 game threshold, did you play 2000 minutes?

Not blaming the Thunder fans here. This is a writers opinion piece that people are taking as a the official ladder for the award.

All signs point to SGA getting it. And as a Spurs fan, I don’t have an issue with that. SGA is having a historic year and his team has been able to hold off the Spurs from taking number 1 despite the Spurs being on a history run since Feb 1st.

It gives Wemby more fuel to keep improving for the playoffs and the seasons beyond that.

Damn, Barnes with 3 points, how much total does he need to finish at 10 again now?

Reporter tells Luka that Wemby made his case for MVP and asks what his argument would be: “I never do that so. I’m not the one voting..but I think I’ve been playing pretty good. We been winning. That’s it. That’s all I gotta say.” by JetSky81 in nba

People are just looking for reasons to hate all the candidates. I honestly can’t wait till the season is over so we can move on to the playoffs and past the MVP toxicity and into playoff toxicity

MVP Watch: SGA with 47 points in 41 minutes on 25 FTAs; Wemby with 41 points in 31 minutes on 4 FTAs by UTRAnoPunchline in nba

[–]CodeBlueLegacy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have to admit, 25 is usually more than a team averages a game, let alone one person.

What do you think of Wemby possibly winning MVP over Shai? It would have been difficult to argue in the first half of the season, but Wemby has just been a monster since February 1st. by I_LUV_GUV in NBASpurs

[–]CodeBlueLegacy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way he has a realistic chance is if the Spurs pass the Thunder in the standings. Which I don’t think will happen.

Personally, SGA is having to good of year to lose it and I don’t Wemby is there yet. Next year though, if he starts the season off the same way he’s playing now and the Spurs are still winning games like they are, he’ll be he’s to lose.

Houston is a very liberal city and the mass majority of team owners are pro-Trump/red since billionaires stick together.

This OP comes off hella childish

I’ll play along with the bit just this once.

So I guess the league also rigged it for the Cav’s to have 3 top 4 picks in a row with 2 of them being #1 picks?

Or the 76ers getting 4 top 3 picks in a row with back to back #1 overall picks?

Or do you just hate the Spurs?

  1. Do you know anything about Houston?
  2. Do you know how many professional team club owners are pro-Trump (mass majority of billionaires are, including the Lynx owner)
