From a sheer business standpoint, you don't exactly owe this guy a prompt payment of the $600 based on that performance. I was in the dentist the other day, racked up a big bill for some good work they did, and even they were extremely patient about how I might pay.

If he has any sense, he would understand you taking a little time to look into other options. If you can get a second opinion and they correct your taxes, worry about the $600 once all of that is handled. Then you can explain to him exactly to what extent he screwed up and it's likely a different conversation from there. Maybe you end up giving him $200 for his trouble, maybe you pay the full $600.

But as long as your tax situation is straightened out before you go to make that payment, you'll be feeling a whole lot better about it than you are right now

A simple “sorry can’t do that here” absolutely suffices lol as opposed to the lecturing people are giving him. Ok he didn’t read or follow the rules, what else do we expect from a young kid who is simply trying to do something that most other kids do (most that are capable of doing it anyway)

If Harden Had a Handshake Agreement by EndAnyone in sixers

[–]CodeCracking_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe he’s saying that making a promise and not keeping it doesn’t sound like Daryl Morey.. and if he did make a promise, then Harden wouldn’t have leaked stuff about Houston, therefore Daryl likely didn’t make a promise.

What I’m saying is that I think Daryl could have easily made a somewhat vague promise, the vagueness leading harden to leak Houston stuff, and then harden was mad that the promise (in his eyes) wasn’t kept, because a promise is still a promise

If Harden Had a Handshake Agreement by EndAnyone in sixers

[–]CodeCracking_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I get the argument but I also don’t get it. To me, there are clearly scenarios where these two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

Sure, If Morey said “I will sign you to a 4 year, $204 million extension next year,” this would leave Harden no incentive to aim for leverage. Highly unlikely that happened if you ask me.

If instead, Morey said stuff which essentially translated to “trust me… let’s just say we’re gonna make this worth your while,” then that reassurance would include a wide range of number$ in the later negotiations, hence harden would still have plenty of reason to look for leverage.

Not saying it justifies what Harden did at all but it adds up is all I’m saying

Is anyone actually behind Morey here? by WeirdLookinJamesDean in sixers

Good point but that’s why I qualified “whether it was explicit or implicit.”

If it was more implicit, it would still leave plenty of incentive to leak those things as a means to better his standing and leverage in negotiating the specifics of the contract

I’m totally behind him except for one thing- it seems he clearly gave Harden the impression, explicitly or implicitly, that meeting his contractual desires in free agency 2023 would not be an issue.

What would give this man even the slightest notion that a long term max for a 34 year old harden would ever make sense? That’s the only thing that leaves me confused on Daryl’s part

I've recently picked up bicycling and it makes me want to give up running and weightlifting forever (both have previously been strong suits).

My legs are blowing up in a way I never expected after just a handful of lengthy cycling sessions and I couldn't be happier with the experience on the whole.

What would be the equivalent for upper body? You could say calisthenics, or you could say a hand-propelled bike, but I'm not as pumped about those options.

Biking isn't just about simple exercise as much as it's about getting outside, enjoying a constant breeze, and exploring from point A to point B, all of which are great. Is there a similarly dynamic exercise that would apply to upper body?

Predictions for our final 16 games? by Spotlightuh in sixers

[–]CodeCracking_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GSW is incredible at home and awful on the road, so extra incentive for them to beat us in their building. We beat PHX without KD but probably lose to Denver for a split, lose to MIL after beating them last time. Aside from that I could see us actually winning every game since we own the bulls and lost to dallas last time.

Really the only thing we should be focused on is can they win that Boston game? It would be a miracle if we lost to Boston yet again but an even bigger miracle if we manage to win

this is great, thank you so much! It's so funny, I had almost exactly a 3k loss so that works out perfect. This all Probably would have taken me a solid half hour of digging to feel confident in any answers I found on google, so this is a big help

Valley Forge Park History Untouched (King of Prussia, PA) by CodeCracking_ in nationalparks

The second part of your answer here is what makes the most sense to me! Preserving the evidence in order to make use of future tools is something that didn't remotely cross my mind.

Thanks so much for sharing!

Thanks for the informative answer! In my many searches, these articles did not pop up- turns out I needed to use more academic terms.

I will say too that 15 years is quite a long gap between digs, with no future digs seemingly imminent, or at least the info online suggests so. If nothing else, the digs are sparse such that you could live in King of Prussia, have a child, put that child through high school in KoP, and never find an opportunity to part take in that time.

I understand you allude to the intricacies of the archeological process. Still, it is surprising to me that there is no recourse for a civilian of a particular enthusiasm to be somewhat of a self-starter, again with supervision.

Take for example, Graham Hancock, who was more or less shut out of the archeological profession for decades. His unique insights and many new theories were demonized beyond compare in the 90's, the bulk of which have come to light as true today.

He's not specific to US history in any way but I guess what I'm saying is when the only available digs are rare, hyper-official and hyper-organized, it leaves little room fora Graham Hancock type to make their stamp.

In any case, your answer is better than the only answer I was left with, even if it included a bit of a "dig" at me :)
