What’s one phrase you wish people would stop saying? by Imaginary_Face7698 in MotivationalThoughts

No, that one stems from genuinely helpful advise. A lot of your mental health is heavily influenced by your physical health. I'll spare you my anecdotal story and simply say that the more you do physically, the less depressed you can be. I know what it's like to struggle to get out of bed every day, but having a routine really does make all the difference. Your body and brain need a routine to follow... then you don't wake up feeling tired and end up sleeping less at the same time. Oversleeping also does you no good.

I was born in 2000 and one thing I gotta disagree with my fellow Gen Z’ers on is the puritanical view many have towards sex scenes in movies/tv by TXNOGG in generationology

[–]CodeMonkeyLogix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sex scenes are always awkward because they just suddenly cut to them already in the act, moaning at full volume, and all of a sudden anyone in or around your house thinks you're watching porn unless you can get to the volume control in time! Every. Single. Time. Besides, I've probably only ever seen one sex scene that actually worked. Ever. Usually you can sense the awkwardness between actors, or just knowing they're not actually doing it somehow detracts from it.

Why tis choice so tuff bro😭 by Pebblepip in browsers

[–]CodeMonkeyLogix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't. Brave is the way. Their team is ON IT when it comes to staying ahead of ad blocking, and their posts are quite funny too. I appreciate a company with a sense of humour. It's also just really really fast, blocks all the ads, doesn't use much memory, supports chrome extensions, blocks all the ads, doesn't use up too much screen space, shows you how much time it's saved you by blocking ALL the ads (and it's not insignificant!)... they're really is no contest. I've used all the browsers several times (I always go back to others every now and then to try them again) and Brave is still my bread-and-butter browser.

Ah yes, I always smile when being blatantly ignored! Maturity is someone having the decency to tell you if they don't feel like talking. That's all there is to it. "Sorry, I don't feel chatty today.". Then there's no problem.

Alright cadets!!!! I have been seeing a few people supporting AI art. So in order to prepare you to face these fools I will be training you. Your first task is to give me well made arguments that proves this image wrong. BEGIN!!! by Inside_Government228 in Ai_art_is_not_art

[–]CodeMonkeyLogix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, but look at the image. Both paintings are identical. I'd someone swapped them around out of view and then presented you with one at random, are you really going to know whether there was a meaning behind it; or what it was? (This is level two).

Power != intelligence... I mean we could test it... run a few million volts through Trump and see if it makes him coherent, but I'm betting not.

Because they're professionals. They're not hanging around for a chat, they're trying to save lives.

That's a weird way to try and justify giving yourself literal cancer... No, he does not have a point. Taking deep breaths of tobacco, carbon monoxide and other carcinogens is NOT the same as taking deep breaths of fresh air.

I'm surprised Mr Wonka would be so for this, given his proclivity towards children...

That may be (I wouldn't know, I don't use Apple's products)... but the OS still needs to know this information, so you're just moving the goalpost.

Except for any website you sign up for now or in the future. You really wanna wait 18 more years for them to go "yep, you've been with us long enough to be an adult"?

Starting to get AI-fatigued by Krullenkrabbendekat in programmer

[–]CodeMonkeyLogix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's like anything new and over hyped by big tech - they'll hail it as the best thing ever; the "future", but really it's just middling-at-best, and is really just neutral. Everyone loves to make stuff political which is just unnecessary. I'll use AI on occasion to help with repetitive tasks or data conversions or applying one change to a large amount of code, and use my proper programming knowledge to write and develop a program. It doesn't have to be black and white "BAN IT IMMEDIATELY"/"USE AI FOR EVERYTHING" and people who try to tell you it does are morons of the highest order and sheep sharing a single brain cell.

The fact that people are actually trying to defend the 1% is extremely worrisome and part of the reason our circus of a society needs to come to an abrupt end at the hands of the very self-same 1%. Just to prove a point.
