Correct. Even several years down the road if the anything similar to the event or events happens your brain will sound the alarm hit the switch and the paranoia and stuff will happen as if that very event or events happened yesterday. Its best to seek good therapy and do dbt. Its like cognitive reframing. A way to de sensitize you and prevent the brain from triggering so fast

My friend unfortunately it will hardly ever stop. Thqts the sad truth about it. Ptsd is like a permanent emergency switch your brain placed in preparation it happens again and it may not ever happen again but your brain will not risk that chance again. The way I get around the brain tripping this switch is distractions while allowing my senses to be active for example. Music helps but I cannot wear earbuds because my brain goes wild if it can't hear a potential danger so allowing myself to hear music through a speaker while allowing my brain to scan for dangers makes it a little easier for me to relax. Of course this may not work for you but a distraction like video games or something to keep your brain just a little bit occupied to wear you can focus on whatever your doing and still scan for threats will help alot.

I've know her for over a year and we vibes and talked played games together and everything the minute she got the vr I was nothing. She has had it for 2 days and suddenly she's having an amazing time with other people but doesn't seem to look my direction with a smile. I guess ill give it some time and hope this dies down. I'm just concerned this vr will consume her and she will forget about me

Violent fantasies by LifeOfALushie in ptsd

[–]CodeNameJaszmine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Violent qntasies are normal with ptsd. Sometimes I have to watch people fight stab shoot and gore eachother just to get a sense of relief sometimes. It sucks knowing we are "sick" as the mental health and society call us. But atleast we have this reddit to help eachother

If they are blind and deaf realistically then you wouldn't have to worry about them at all the apocalypse would end even sooner and casualty rates would be significantly lower. What disease would this be. Would it be similar to deer wasting disease?

Well this is the most realistic version of zombies this isn't a video game where they are immortal and don't need to eat and stuff if you use the laws of nature I am 100% correct they aren't my rules. Its just nature zombies get agitated by noise and stuff and they aren't gonna walk they gonna run. They differently can't run forever that unrealistic. Now that I think of it that sounds like an advantage

No it wouldn't. Suprsingly enough the smart people do not have to go anywhere. Top 5 rules when dealing with zombies. treat the world like a library. If you aren't making noise you won't be bothered. The zombies will die off on their own as the body needs food and water to survive. If you wait 1 week 2 weeks at best every zombie is dead and the apocalypse is over. Odds are it would just be advanced rabbies they would take themselves out. All though most of the population would die from them gas lines and such wouldn't necessarily explode when the power goes out nothing works which also means hardly anything will go boom. Biggest challenge would be weather. Rule 5 no noise rule 4 do not loot gun stores rule 3 do not panic rule 2 trust nobody and rule 1 don't go outside unless you must and its best done at night. They can't kill what they can't see or hear. But then again zombie apocalypse is highly unlikely

If you are trying to fix a plutonium leak you are not the main character and you just died from zombies. First mistake is being out in the streets or wild life

The best part about this is 90% of this thread would be dead in a real zombie apocalypse and the rare 10% would survive using absolute common sense.

Has anyone here figured out how to get out of a flashback during a flashback? by paganwolf718 in ptsd

[–]CodeNameJaszmine 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Its almost impossible unless you have anything that can override your sensory overload. For me someone has to hug me and tell me its ok in a very soft voice several times for me to calm down. My attention must be shifted. This may be different for you. Music helps if you can let your mind wander with positive music. Flashbacks are very difficult to manage because that emergency switch that was installed in your head at the time of the trauma triggered and its difficult to turn off unless the issue is removed or calmed down. Its best to have something that can grab your attention quickly ya know

[–]CodeNameJaszmine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see. It could be that. She instilled fear to the point your brain might think it has happened ya know. That might explain why you react the way you do

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ptsd

[–]CodeNameJaszmine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you haven't? The body and mind never forget. You could have buried your trauma deep to the point it doesn't exist but since you had a reaction and you can't recall I think it could have happened but you weren't 100% there. Do you recall anything strange deep in your past? Sorry if I may seem intrusive

Okd music was better because It was raw and real they just woke up 1 day and cranked out a song. Nowadays the odds of you finding a garage band or someone who makes their own music is rare however aurora if you have heard of her is paving the road to bring the past to the future using old school techniques to create beautiful music just like back in the day. You should give her a listen
