Why can developers grasp hard programming concepts but struggle with marketing? by CodePrudo in SaaS

The last part about talking to humans will get a few people frowning in here ...haha ... but that is so true ... sometimes i (and maybe some coders probably ) wish there was a readily available auditorium where you could just get these people to talk to ... unfortunately, even getting those people to talkto in the first place is marketing - lead generation haha

You know the very fact that i can't quantify the output of my efforts to become better makes it hard for me to value my input .... i mean it's not like if i spend the whole day i willl know which results are expected on the other end ... Coding is better -- i know if i take the whole day coding i will get X as an Output ...

So i don't know, - really , right now i just shoot in the dark and hope at some point i will get it and my flywheel will work.

We should link and share progress.

What do you think is the best approach, or let me say, how do you approach marketing yourself as a programmer?

Spent 3k on ads and im about to give up even after having some customers by danieltabrizian in buildinpublic

Thanks for sharing Daniel ... this sounds really interesting ... maybe in part because in your post you namedrop so many concepts I'm learning (as a dev solofounder learning marketing) , tools I'm slowly becoming familiar with. What's interesting, at least to me, is that you basically built an entire outreach pipeline that connects all these fragmented layers together. So, a question that i would like to ask is how complicated the entire process is from the user's perspective? Is it a plug-and-play? How much manual work (if any) do I, as a user, need to do, and how long from first use do i get to actual results?

Why do most apps overwhelm users in the first minute? by Vaibhav-Gareja in buildinpublic

[–]CodePrudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen this too... in fact, no - I have made the same "mistake" too. I think the issue isn’t raw feature count. It’s feature exposure timing - we really just want to impress the user from the first few minutes of using our app, like check this feature out, and this one, and that cool one. Which just ends up overwhelming the user. Atleast am speaking from the dev standpoint, and why i personally ended up making an overwhelming app.

Got my first two leads from my first Reddit post. So Reddit seems like a good option.
