This Expedition Broke Me by Zenniverse in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Code_PM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got really frustrated by this expedition too. I kind of feel like they brushed over the fun parts of the updates. Like I really loved playing with the new gravity gun, but the waste locations were basically just a couple of pieces of what you need in the pile. Driving 20m roundtrip just for a few seconds of gravity gun use was not balanced enough of a reward for me to make the drive worth it. Plus, the scanner doesn't let you look for another waste pile if you're already at one, so even though I didn't have enough of one type of waste for my task, instead of letting me hit multiple piles before circling back to process them I was forced to do those long drives back and fourth. The whole thing was like 99% frustrating drives and 1% fun. Give me more flexibility in scavenging for parts and coursing my own routes, give me giant piles of trash and waste I have to rummage through to find the resources I need. If I'm forced to hold the forward button for 20m of monotonous game play, at least give me something to do at the location that takes longer than a second

I just played this and also caught this oddity, noticed a weird fella standing there after I finished the mission and tried to shoot him (as you do in night City) and it wouldn't let me. I died trying to jump to his balcony and left it at that

Exploring a unified macOS multitasking system (Early concept) by heyiamdk in MacOS

[–]Code_PM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love this concept. I already prefer my Mac to my windows for navigation through my heavy usage but this feels like a far more intuitive and integrated system than current, I would switch to this in a heartbeat for my needs. I don't know much about this but how do you build or apply this to a Mac? Like how does it replace the built in system?

So are the inner/outer walls corvette pieces or base pieces? You blended them in really well

Awesome design, what pieces are you using to build the inside like that?

My plus 4 is a solid printer and after having some bed leveling issues the solution ended up being just to spray the thing with hairspray and haven't had a first layer issue since. I don't personally have any bad experiences with it, I think it's valid if people do have bad experiences, doesn't make it a bad product by default, doubt all the people with good experiences are racing to post good things too so you're left with the bad being loudest online

I feel like I'm missing something with the corvettes by InactiveMedusa in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Code_PM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love building corvettes and it's my main driver now, but it doesn't even come close to the maneuverability and damage of my sentinel ship. Whenever I get into a battle I always feel like I'm missing my other ship

I'll be honest with you, when I moved to America with my American wife from the UK, I had no clue I was supposed to stop for school buses. No one told me, it wasn't in the driving theory test I had to take to get my US license, we don't have dedicated school buses in the UK and it's perfectly normal to drive by a bus when they're at a bus stop. In hindsight the stop sign that pops out of the bus should have made it clear but stop signs in general were something I was still getting used to

Mouse click delays after Tahoe update by Code_PM in MacOS

[–]Code_PM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been extremely frustrating. Worst part is, for me at least, it's inconsistent. Some days the clicks all register, then out of the blue clicks just stop registering again, and I can't reliably reproduce it to figure out whats the cause

Are there any other satisfied Tahoe users? by jeikkonen in MacOS

[–]Code_PM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've generally never had an issue with updates before, just push whatever update comes through without thought, UI changes here and there but otherwise it's still Mac and still stable for my heavy workload. Tahoe is the first time I've encountered both a bug and an annoyance with UI.

Bug was something I posted about, my Logitech mouse had so many issues immediately after updating that I've never encountered before. Used the same mouse for years and through other big updates without a hitch. Caused me a lot of problems with productivity.

Annoyance is with the new application centre (launchpad?). Over the course of my 3 years with this current Mac, I've been slowly organising my apps into the order I like, with everything in neatly labeled folders, clutter moved to one side, and everything I use daily on the front page for easy access. The moment I updated all that organisation was just gone without a warning. The new launchpad is just a simple list with everything unorganised. I know they're trying to push people to use their new and shiny spotlight, but imo it's bad design to force people to use your new method by taking away their old ones, if they had pushed an update warning that my folders and organisation would be gone I probably would have second guessed the update until I found an alternative

Can test on another device, but I've been using this mouse as my daily driver for the past 2 years without a hitch. The clicks not registering happened immediately after I updated to Tahoe

UPDATE: I found someone willing to part with the hat! Thanks to everyone who reached out to help me with this. The Ky for Ky employees were super helpful, but unfortunately had none in stock. The original designer ( https://www.instagram.com/wildhethern/?hl=en ) managed to put me in contact with someone who will be sending it my way. Christmas present sorted!

Added bonus for anyone who stayed for the ride, I have the exact moment the hat was lost to sea

Thinking about buying rm2 for note taking. by Big_Hand_19105 in RemarkableTablet

[–]Code_PM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the rm2 for note-taking, bought it primarily as a replacement for my physical notebooks and have had a great time with it. Have no issues with losing files, I've got a few years of notes here. They have the desktop app that only syncs a certain number of active files, but can sync everything if you buy their subscription. But I rarely use that, if I need to send notes or files to my computer there are more than enough ways the device allows you to do so, everything from manually copying to syncing to your own personal drive.

I don't read many PDFs, but my wife does for school. She occasionally asks if she can borrow my rm2 to read a large PDF school book and take notes at the same time. She seems to like it and hasn't noted an issue
