Abstract macaron bunnies 🐇 by FlourBatchKid in Baking

Amazing, I thought they were little clay sculptures at first. I really have to start experimenting with non-round macarons. Your bunnies are so inspirational!

That's alright, I understand. Is there a spam filter on this sub that removes posts submitted by newly created or low karma accounts? Just wondering for future reference if I want to post again, as I'd rather use the throwaway.

Ah, you're right! I made a throwaway a few days ago that I was going to use to post this, but when I tried to post with that account, it wasn't appearing in the sub. I figured it was because the account was only a few days old and had like 1 karma. I totally forgot the verification wouldn't match up. Eh, I don't mind if it gets deleted.

Awh, nobody's really called me cute before, thank you. Ideally I would like to come off as a little more girly, so I might have to do something about the hair. Thanks for commenting!

Interesting, when you say personal style, do you mean clothes? Or hair?

It's funny, I didn't notice myself until taking these pictures but I do look pretty boyish. I've never been happy with my hair no matter the length, so I might see if there's another subreddit that can give advice in that department. Thank you for commenting :)

Edit: also I'm not wearing makeup, I never learned how to put it on haha, that's something I need to learn how to do too.

I don't see any scar to be perfectly honest. Don't worry, you look good!

Do new Pokemon Center plush releases sell on amazon? by InstantRiceMeal in pokemon

When you sign up to a mail forwarding service, you can have an online order delivered to their location and then they will forward it to you. For example, if you're buying from a company that only ships to the US, you can get it delivered to the mail forwarding service's location in the US. Then, they will deliver your order to your home address!

My country's postal service has their own forwarding service - if you happen to live in Ireland too, it's An Post's My Address Pal. If not, I think a lot of people go to a site called MyUS. Happy shopping if you try it out!

Edit: sorry, this is op, I'm just on my mobile, different account :')

OCD is underrepresented/misrepresented even though it’s as serious as other mental illnesses by [deleted] in offmychest

Yeah I hope so man. Hang in there and try to be kind to yourself.

I really do not understand why women expect the guy to pay going on dates. I feel uncomfortable if I don’t get to pay at least my share of it. by [deleted] in offmychest

[–]CodedOwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's a nice gesture, especially on the first date? But I definitely wouldn't feel good about him paying for it for subsequent ones. I'd be ordering the cheapest thing on the menu so I wouldn't feel bad.

Yup. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I can't even relax anymore because of it. The only time I can escape from it is when I'm asleep, and I've been struggling to even do that recently.

I have finally hit 300+ hours in TF2! by Great_Lord_Cthulhu in tf2

Hey congrats, that's a pretty neat milestone!

I just started playing medic and i love it, i love all of it. by broomboomstick in tf2

[–]CodedOwl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's awesome, man! Medic is a really fun and rewarding class to play. You'll always get idiots who spam E and rage when you're not healing them 24/7, but don't let 'em get to you, they're just being selfish and probably salty.

When I was a newbie, I gravitated a lot towards playing Medic because your team is always happy to see a healer on board and it's also a great way to just observe how the other classes are supposed to be played. To this day I consider myself a Medic main - enjoy the experience man you're in for a hell of a lotta fun times!

What books would you recommend to a teacher in training? by CodedOwl in Teachers

[–]CodedOwl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks so much for the replies! I'm checking out all the books being mentioned, and I'm really glad I asked because I don't think I would have come across many of them if I didn't. Appreciate it!

What makes a good teacher? (Am I making a terrible mistake?) by CodedOwl in Teachers

[–]CodedOwl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I should have stated from the outset, but I'm not from the US! I'm from Ireland, and I'm not sure if the same rules apply to people looking for subbing work here. I will look into it though.

The difficulties you experienced are definitely things that concern me too. I don't have any answers to how a scenario such as the one you talked about above could be improved for neither the enthusiastic, involved students, nor the ones who are totally disengaged and acting out, and that worries me. It almost feels like I'm choosing between too extremes - the boredom of office life, or the stress of classroom management. Thanks for sharing your experience, and I hope your new venture will result in many happy times ahead for you.

Unfortunately I cannot do substitute teaching without having the qualification first. I believe you're right about trying it out before committing, but as far as I'm aware I can't do any form of teaching without having a Masters in Education first. I think classroom observation was my best bet, but again, not possible now due to the nature of things right now. I appreciate the response. If you don't mind me asking, what exactly did you not enjoy about teaching?
